If I create a PowerPoint in Microsoft PowerPoint 2007, can I edit it on an older version?

I have 2007 at home, but I can put it on an older version like 2000 or 2003 at school to edit my presentation?

I think you've got the question backwards there WIll V.

You can open and edit a presentation saved by the 2003 version in your 2007, yes.

However, as a rule of thumb you CANNOT open or edit your 2007-created presentation with your school's 2003 version.
I say rule of thumb becasue if, by chance, you saved simple things in your 2007-created presentation, things for which the code is the same in 2003, then you can open it.
However, if you use a feature unique to the 2007 in creating your pres, the 2003 won't be know what to do with the new-age code.

The 2003 might just go around the spots it can't read, and throw in an older font or just won't play an animation/transition it can't understand, but I wouldn't count on it.




Inside your 2007 at home, in the window that pops up when you click "save as", there's a drop-box labled "save type as". Slide down and click the type that sounds like it would work at school, like "presentation powerpoint 2003" or whatever it says (I don't know, I don't have 2007 in front of me).

Yes, 2007 can open and edit an older version. Some features will be disabled, but it will work. Just save as the old format. Been there, done that, got the T shirt.

When you create the PPT file in 2007, save it to a previous version with Save AS. Click the down-arrow next to filetype on the bottom of the Save As window.

Yes you can do that,I've done it before,but there are some older versions that cannot support the new ones.
I did a microsoft word 2007 at home
It didn't work on some of the 2003 computers at my school
But it worked on others

So you can probably do it/

As long as the Power Point 2007 file is saved as a .ppt format file you should have no problem opening it on an older version of Power Point.

As common workplace keys stay continually, i reckon you had the trial version, and its ended now. All you will possibly have the skill to do is examine and save displays till you purchase a product key
