Because the universe is material, not spiritual, and the central tenet of science is causality. Within science, which the study of the material universe, nothing exists without an origin and nothing happens without a cause. Without this central idea, science could not exist at all. When people start to develop a previously unheard of disease, do medical scientists call a meeting to discus whether the disease has a cause?? Of course not. A cause is taken for granted, just because the disease exists. Rather, them immediately startresearch to identify the cause. Same with the universe. If it exists, it must have had an origin. And, if it came into existence, that event must have had a cause. Since nothing can be the cause of itself, the cause of the universe must exist outside the universe, therefore outside of matter, energy, time and space.

You make no sense. What does the beginning or end of the universe have to do with the beginning and end of God? Perhaps that is something greater than the limitations of time which you don't understand at this time. Clearly there is, because the concept of a beginning and end to everything is flawed, because there will always be something that came before the beginning, so there can't really be a beginning.
I know that is just as confusing as your questions, but what I am saying is that there is more than we currently understand. Any scientist will admit that our understanding of anything is limited.

WHo says that the universe has no beginning or no end? Even the big bang theory has affirmed this. I believe there is a beginning and an end of the universe, it's just that we could not or at least don't know exactly how it would happen. But the fact that we don't know or we can't prove it, is not enough reason to conclude that there is no beginning or end....In short, it does not mean that because we do not know it, it does not exist or must not exist. Reality is reality even if you don't believe in it...the existence of it does not rely on your believing...It exists because it is...so also the beginning and end of the universe...they way you believe, does not alter the reality...

Because the universe was CREATED in time- which is just a portion out of eternity. Think of a cake then to be less complicated, the whole cake could represent eternity and a slice of that cake could represent time. Hope this made sense to you. There since God is eternal, He made time thus creating the universe, but time will have to end. Anything which has a beginning and an end cannot be eternal. Thus the need for God comes into play when this time has end because the fact is we will not end with time.

Anyway, with or wothout the universe God will still be God and He does not need any of us for that purpose. We need Him but Hwe does not need us,but He loves us anyway.

God bless

Energy. The universe needs energy, an unbelievable amount, to sustain it. In my humble opinion, God provides that. There is no time limit on the universe, only for mankind. I asked a series of previous questions relating to Time, more accurately the time NOW. We cannot comprehend NOW, it doesn't exist for humans. Isn't that strange? Since we can't count or measure it, it doesn't exist right? So I think that God is Now, he is timeless. There is no past or future with him. The answer to the question 'when was the universe created/appeared' is in fact, 'Now'. It's an interesting study, if you would like to research it. Kisses to Grotty, and stop getting all our rain for heaven's sake! LOL. (How is the rain in Spain by the way? The rain in Crete is non existant!)

There isn't a need for a god, anyway, as far as I can imagine. Also, as far as I can imagine, there isn't a need for the universe to have a beginning and/or an ending. I imagine infinity isn't what it seems, however, in any dimension including time.

Have you noticed the way some graph values that increase to infinity and disappear off the top of the page have a nasty habit of reappearing, spontaneously, at the bottom of the page? So much for beginnings and endings.

Well, time in our Universe does seem to have a beginning, 13.7 billion years ago. There may be stuff that happened before that, but it is unknowable to us. It does seem likely that our Universe will go on forever into the future, but it will be extremely low density a google years from now.

There needs to be a "cause" for the Big Bang. That cause may be something extremely simple, like a particle physics event.

That is a pretty logical question to pose for arguments sake, but do not expect to get critical well thought out reactions to it from the religious. They are not basing their decisions on logic and rational thought, but a subjective emotional viewpoint. Basically, what I am saying is that you cannot argue against emotions, because they are subjective or different for everyone. Actual truth is objective, not subjective. It either is or it isn't. Something is true or false. There either is a god or their isn't. You cannot argue an objective truth like this, with subjective evidence. My point being, that you are wasting your time on them. lol

I dont really get it.
But don't you wonder why God waited around for such a long time before creating the universe. If Gods been around forever and they have a rough idea of when the Earth was formed, why did God choose to hang around doing nothing for such a long time before making something to look over? What did he do in his time before he made the universe and started looking over us on earth?

Anyway yeah...

I'll give you the Islamic answer

God is uncreated, there has no end or beginning or need of time and space.

Everything else is created in time and space therefore finite.

And everything finite will end because that's its nature, that's the nature of creation finite. simple
