I am a British sikh, I have been reading about religion etc in the newspapers of England(my country!)` and it says 75%+ of muslims put their religion in front of their nationality.

My dad was born in India and is a Sikh and is now a British citizent living hapily in England although still speaking the native language punjabi at home he tries and speaks english outdoors, although speaking little English he can still converse not into much depth.

My mum on the other hand is a British born and bred sikh who is slightly dopey(*god forgive me* lol!) and who can speak fluent english because she is english thinks that if there was a war against India she would be on India's side. I beg to differ, she always says I am stupid and a traitor but to whom, I am british so why should I back another country who's which language I can minimally speak?

My Indian-born dad thinks that it is right to fight for England, and he would fight for England if there was a war.

What do you think?

Plus, some of my peers at school also support INDIA when it comes to cricket!! I think they are totally stupid, and they think they are somehow against Brits(the white ones)! And a teacher(South African) supported South Africa in the world cup final, which is right of coarse as she has a 5 year visa to teach, my peers' arguement was "WHY does she not support England then?..she's in England"

But she is not British, they are so they should, and they say but she's white. How insane?!!

I believe Christ should come before everything, to include nationality.

I think all people should be expected to put their religion before the good of their country .( I wish they wouldn't !) This is why it is so dangerous to allow fundamentalists and their institutions into places like the USA and England and other secular countries . These people such as Muslims are committed not to the Ideals of Equal Rights , The Pursuit of Happiness , and other basics that free people enjoy . Rather they are commited to the destruction ( changing) of governments that allow freedom . While I am an atheist who believes in tolerance ( feel free to worhip in your churches and temples if it makes you feel better ) , I am not stupid enough to invite a psychotic murderer into my home for dinner . And maybe the USA should have learned a lesson from the American Indians after they let in the colonists !
As far as soccer matches and such , When you boat you are required to show respect to the county's waters you're in by flying their flag above your own country's . With soccer ( although I think this is a Big ado about nothing ) I think you should root for the team from where you reside ( 5 years is on the borderline of actual residence.)

Your question is a very interesting one. I on the other hand am a non-believer so I can give 2 craps about Christianity or any other religion so it is an easy one for me to answer with my nationality. But I can see both arguments on your side. My opinion is you are between a rock and a hard place. You just can just make the decision that is right for you the individual. I wont personally fight for a religion because I believe the religion is why we got in the fight in the first place.

I am Blessed to live in the USA where I can be a Christian and everyone else can be what they want to be or not want to be.

As long as it remains that way it is a moot issue.

Should we ever be forced to accept Sharia Law I would willingly die for My Christian Beliefs.

Remember the Price of this FREEDOM is not FREE and that is why we fight wars with those who would even think about trying to change it.

If the rest of the world was like the USA there would be no more Religious Wars for World Domination.

GOD HAS BLESSED THE USA

umm thats all up to you.. im puerto rican..and if there was a war against puerto rico i would be on p.rico's side.. i live in the united states. would you want your mother land to be bombed up?? it all depends on how much you love either country.. india is such a beautiful place, why wouldnt you side with them?? do you know what england has done to you guys before?? but then again thats just you.

p.s. puerto rico is mainly a roman catholic country, but im muslim so are you saying that ur mom is thinking you should be on indias side because of the sikh population?? and not england cuz its was founded by christians?? id still choose P.R. no matter if its officially a christian country...

The USA does not have a national religion by law on purpose.

In contrast to the USA, Saudi Arabia has a national religion by law on purpose called Islam. In contrast to the USA, the Vatican of Italy has a national religion by law on purpose called European Catholicism.

Would a war between England and India be a religious war or a political war.

both seem classic granfalloons to me: imaginary and pointless clusterings of people that have nothing to do with how the world actually works. I would give my life for neither.
