2 Cor 7:1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
Thats Bible.

I am not sure how much it matters. Most modern people (who have the means to do so) keep themselves pretty clean because they prefer to be that way.
Religious laws about personal hygiene were probably made mostly for health reasons. They didn't want to spread disease and infections.
But again, most people today are physically clean anyway. I certainly think that if you go to worship with a community of people you should be clean and well groomed. There are very few people who are incapable of doing this.

I like being not dirty or stinky, and I don't need a religion to tell me that I need to bathe to remove both those issues. I shower after work because I smell like a kitchen after being in one for 11-12 hours, I shower after sex because I'm all sweaty and whatnot, I generally bathe whenever I don't feel clean and pleasant.

''Cleanliness is half of iman*... " [Hadith]
* Iman is usually translated as faith. In another hadith, related by Muslim (No.57) Iman is described as 'having more than seventy branches, the highest of which is saying 'La ilah ill Allah' (there is no god but the One God) and the lowest of which is removing a harmful obstacle from the path. And modesty is part of Iman.
