I feel that I am ready to start accepting God and Jesus and the Holy Spirit into my life, and I want to become a Christian.

I'm not sure what I want to do, I think Catholicism is the best choice for me because my mother is a Catholic, but she always left the decision on what I wanted to be up to me. I don't know what I want to be though, Catholic or Protestant.

Study them both and decide which fits best with your beliefs.
And be ready for some Protestants to say "Catholics are not true Christians".

Well, the best thing ot do would be to leave it in the air for a while. One week, go to a youthgroup and service at a protestant church and the next week do the same at the catholic church. See what you think fits your beliefs more. Also, dont just choose to be a Catholic because your mom is. The two groups have different beliefs and worship God in a different way. Look into both, but for now, just accpet God into your life. You don't have to absolutely know what denomination you are going to be. I wish the best for you. God Bless.

Catholicism has ritualistic beliefs that were made up by money-grabbing church leaders. The seperation was the protesting; Martin Luther saw that nowhere in the Bible did it state the entrance of Heaven by Indulgences.

The Protestant Bible - the Holy Bible - is the closest a Bible can get to the Torah (At least in the Old Testament). The Catholics were the ones who changed the words around for appealing beliefs.

I'm non-denominational, but I would be Protestant if I had to choose.

*I am gay as well. During the Spanish Inquisition, the Catholic Church ordered the murdering of homosexuals no matter what. They were seperating from Jesus' teachings. If Jesus was in that situation, He wouldn't murder; He would try to help, since God is forgiving.

There are several issues with what today's Christians' views are in accordance to the Holy Bible. They are right when they say that homosexual acts are an abomination upon the eyes of our Lord, but they are wrong in treating them any different; We should be helped since it is what Jesus would do.

I chose to be non-denominational because I find that God does help me even though I am gay; I do not want to astray from the Word of God with man-made rituals. In the case that you find yourself in, myself, as a gay, would choose to be Protestant.

The situation isn't approximately which faith teaches the reality since all of them stand for the equal factor. The precise cause we've got religions is to exhibit persons the alternative among proper and unsuitable. Every faith teaches you to be a well man or woman and that's the one factor thats most important particularly. Once you suppose within the vigour of well after near exam on what's well and what is not. You discover that doing unhealthy can not often do any well to you. I cannot give an explanation for the whole thing all i will be able to say is that you simply have to appear farther then simply Christianity since it handiest holds components of the reality. Don't take a detailed faith over an additional one, be open minded and make your possess faith. If you real wish to suppose than learn from all religions and you are going to discover methods for your entire disorders.

I personally think it is hard to be a Catholic Christian. You will have to decide wether praying to Mary translates into idolatry. She never has or will be a bridge between man and God as the Jewish priests once were. Jesus is the ultimate bridge. Go to several different churches. Especially catholic churches. There are many catholics who are not christians. My best friend growing up was a christian catholic. Always refer to scripture for what you believe. It is okay to take a stance and then change your mind as God reveals more truths to you. It is most important to follow God's will for you.

Psalm 119:2
2Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.

FORGET the main line denominations find a non -denominational church but before you do that, admit you are a sinner (ROM 6:23) ask Jesus to forgive you and ask him to be your Lord and Savior then tell the pastor of the church you choose what you have done and ask him what is the next step you won't regret the decision godspeed <((((>< p.s. don't worry about the homosexuality Jesus knows how to handle it

I think you should read the Gospel of John,,,and then read how the new church began in Acts Chapter 10...pay close attention to what happened to them when they got saved..don't overlook a single thing about what happened..Know that it is all for today....Go find the Church that teaches the full Gospel.....some call them Full Gospel churches.....some Pentecostal....don't let anyone tell you what is right or wrong,,,,read it for yourself and decide........ do you want to play church or get saved?

Get serious about studying your bible....and always ask the Holy Spirit to guide you..you are not seeking so much a denomination,,as a personal relationship with Jesus...get that first,,,then decide on what Chuch you want to attend.

You best bet is to learn about each denomination, by reading up on their practices and more importantly visiting them. Go to services at different churches around where you live. And most importantly... take your time. Don't jump at one because someone makes you feel like you have to... or else. Choose the one that feels right. No one will be a better judge of what brings you closer to Your God than you.

Well, if your mom attends church, you should go to that church and sign up for the classes necessary to become a member of the Catholic faith. You'll have to learn and go through all of the sacraments that you've missed, such as reconciliation, first communion, and confirmation. If she doesn't attend a church, or you don't live near her, I'd recommend testing a few out to see which church suits you. Some are very traditional while some are more contemporary. Go to a few different masses and find one you like. I wish you all the best! God bless.

I think learn about them both and go to which one your heart and your head seem drawn toward. I became a Christian 22 years ago and it is the best thing that has ever happened to me. The so call "laws" of God really just bring freedom and they free you to be the amazing person that God intended you to be!! Enjoy the ride!!

Study out the Bible and the various religions claiming to be true. Examine where they get their authority from, and pray to God to know which one is true. Clearly, you cannot study all Christian sects in depth. But if you pray to know which is the true one (or most correct one) God will help you to find out.
Overall, you will be blessed simply for believing in Christ and following his teachings; however, the true gospel will bring with it stepping stones that will bless your life through priesthood ordinances.
