That dress looks beautiful -- much more beautiful than "typical" bridal gowns. I would definitely wear it!

Make sure you try it on, though -- depending on how you carry your weight, it might no fall right or it might actually emphasize your mid-section more. Try on a variety of dresses and see what works best with your body type.

Really, though, I hope that when you try on that dress it works well, 'cause it's gorgeous. It makes me want to get pregnant just so I can wear it. ;-)

Get whatever looks most beautiful to you. That being said, I think a maternity dress would tend to emphasize your mid-section. If you would prefer something that does not emphasize it, I'm sure you could find a flattering non-maternity dress. I might recommend an empire-waist A-line dress or an A-line dress with side-ruching. It could be altered to fit your body perfectly.

However, if you want to go for the fertile classical beauty look, by all means do!

You could look like Venus: http://web.utk.edu/~glenn/TitianMirror.gif

No one will know but you, so don't tell anyone.
However, an empire waist like that shows off the tummy, rather than hides it.
A better option is a basque waist, sometimes called a dropped waist, with a gown in a beautiful flowing material - it just glides down over the hips, hiding a tummy.
This isn't the best example, but I don't have time to google much -

OOO - this one is MUCH prettier -

It's not like the shop is going to require a positive pregnancy test to order the dress!

I wore a maternity dress as the maid of honor in a wedding because I, too, am, er... carrying around a bigger load that typical dresses are designed for. If it fits and you feel beautiful in it, no matter what it's classified as, get it and love it! :-)

Wait till February once you unfastened a number of your weight. The tailor could have lots of time to get your gown merely precise, and in case you unfastened greater weight, additionally they are going to have time to take the robe in some. A ball room costume could look slightly...nicely, long, on a short guy or woman, however the tailor, if a solid tailor, could have the potential to shorten the robe to make it look solid. a super pair of heels will additionally help with top. in common terms a heads up, in case you an detect a gown someplace different than David's Bridal, please do! They lost my gown! as quickly as I went to %. it up, they could no longer discover it everywhere interior the tailors room. It grew to become into back on the floor to be offered lower back!!! i'm no longer able to describe how annoying that made issues. They did the actual comparable element to my mom in regulation! Congratulations on your engagement!!!

How exquisite!!! I have a big mid-section, too and have been tempted to look at maternity pants.... If you have a local retailer that stocks maternity wedding dresses, try them on to see if they hit were you want them to.

Congrats!

I agree with Erin. It's not like the dress will say "gown for pregnant ladies" on the back. Nobody will know, they will just be looking at the beautiful bride!

Try it on and see how it looks, that is the only way to know for sure. And remember, nobody needs to know it is a maternity gown unless you tell them. So keep it to yourself.
I think you will be fine tho.

If that's the kind of dress that fits you best and is most flattering, I don't see why not.
