My car engine is made in Communist China. (China helped kill American troops back in the Vietnam war.) Note: My car is a Chevy Equinox.

Why are we fighting in Iraq? & since when has "anti-war" become a pejorative? By the way, trolls are ugly little creatures that hide under rocks by day, do their dirty work by night & leave their slimy trails behind them. Sadly, there are people who are PRO-WAR. God knows how many more lives will be lost before we dump the anarchist, "the leader of the most powerful nation in the world!!!??" FLOSS answered with logic. So rare & refreshing.
Oh, wait a minute. As for "grudges." Do you know how many Vietnam veterans still, & will always have psychological disorders from that war? If I had a grudge, I think you know agaisnt what country it would be.

I will put it in as lament terms as possible. It was to stop communism. The Korean and Vietnam war were what you would term as proxy wars, for the cold war.Communists would push into other countries,by force and we would push back. These wars were fought in small scale because full out war between the east and the west was suicide for all.It bothers me that we see clothes from Vietnam, believe me you'll find them at JC Penney's and Macy's too(not just wal-mart)but heres the rub, creating capitalistic ideas in communist countries promotes a more democratic ideal.Example: People in China in their 20's dont realize the freedom and opportunities they have that their parents didn't.In the eighties they protested in Tinnemin square in China.the Man whom got in the way of the oncoming tanks was executed. His sacrifice was not in vain I'm sure,so we import capitalism and it destroys communism because after tasting certain freedoms, people wont want to give them back.

That's a question you will have to ask the people who were in power at the time, but alas, most of them are dead now and a few are still here (Cheney, Rumsfeld).
All I can say is this:
"we were winning when I was there"!
But we did fight so Wal Mart could trade business with Vietnam and so you could buy that shirt. Under Communism, you would only have a choice of one shirt to wear and you would have to work a week to buy it, and that's only if it was available.
So thank those 58,000+ troops for the shirt on your back!

We fought Vietnam because our American government had a “fear” of Communism. We didn’t want Communism to spread because if that happened (Which eventually it did) than USSR would have another country to use as a base and ally to further spread their ideas.

It is shocking to read and learn that America itself SUPPORTED Communist military groups in Latin America.

BTW, read about Operation Ajax, it explains the “fear” America had about Communism and why Iran hates us so much.

After WWII Pres Eisenhower committed to the defense of S. Vietnam should they be threatened by the communist North. When they were we then stood by our commitment. Presidents following Eisenhower expanded on the commitment ending in a disasterous war.

Actually the US was dragged into Vietnam by the French.
Now you know why Americans despise the French.

The Vietnam campaign is widely regarded as a huge mistake (the Domino theory was obviously false). One in which the Vietnamese, as well as the drafted American men, are viewed as the victims. As for America purchasing their goods, you should realize that a whole lot of money was spent on Japanese/German cars over the years and that they killed considerably more servicemen. You can't hold grudges forever, everyone loses then.

Except for the cheating diving French football team.

Looooong story. Pick up a history textbook. It'll tell you better in 5-10 pages than I could in less than 200 words.

Vietnam and other wars ( Irak, Iran, and coming soon Korea or Turkey) are invented wars.

They are "necessary" (of course they aren't) to improve US economy, or even worse, to get more votes on election times.

I know it hard to take, but those "conflicts" are just an excuse to invade and sell weapons and charge other countries the "protection" US is providing them.

You will see very soon the next show take place maybe in North Korea or Istanbul, who cares, ( I care ) anywhere.

Most the fears US government like to implant in people's mind don't rally exist.
