They say that you tend to become a fool if you keep saying "Oh!I am such a fool!!" or whatever. Could it be true?

There have been studies done on both the effect of positive and negative reinforcement by outsiders and by your own "self talk."

The studies reveal that both types have a huge impact on your self worth and self esteem. If you have repeating negative talk to yourself, you will generally have a low self esteem. If others speak negatively to you, the effect is the same.

Interestingly enough, the effects of positive talk differ. Positive self talk has as much of an impact on you as negative self talk does. However, positive talk from others has a lower impact level than negative talk from others.

The bottom line? What you think of yourself is projected out to others. It is a self-fulfilling prophecy. If you see yourself failing, you will fail. If you see yourself succeeding, you will succeed!
