Atheists are more flexible with their beliefs. Christians have to argue over what they think "jesus would do".

I cannot speak to R&S, but Atheists, and other secularists, do not all agree among ourselves. ONe comment above, is partially right: We share a skepticism about the Bible's GOd and about the value of religion. On many other things, I am sure we disagree. Some of us differ on how useful it is to discuss and understand the Bible. One woman in a group I meet with, asked me why I care what the Bible says.
I am sure that some of us are Republican and some Democrat. A few of us might even be pro-life. There is no logical reason why an atheist might not be pro-life, anti-gay or anything else.
Christians also differ, and they also share a lot of things.
Like most contrasts between believers and unbelievers, I think this one is beside the point. The issue is the evidence for or against propositions that religious people espouse and the evidence for or against propositions that secularists espouse. Much beyond that too often strays into ad hominem.

Well, not only are there many Christian religions, but every Christian interprets the Bible and their personal faith in a different way. Some Christians are more accepting, some are more fire and brimstone. And I can't agree with your point about Atheists always agreeing with each other. Every Atheist interprets their beliefs and values differently. I've come across very accepting Atheists as well as extremely callous and rude Atheists as well. It all depends on the person. I think personal beliefs also influence answers as well as spiritual beliefs.

Well if you look at it from a different perspective you will see it a different way. Why would someone generally always agree with one another? Can't they separate themselves from the group. Having a collective society can lead one to be controlled and manipulated.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collectivism.
Perhaps the reason for the different views is that religion doesn't limit people to follow just one standard or pov. Yes there is competition, but there is competition with everything. At the heart , religion branches off into many realms, yet they all emerge into one. Atheism follows a straight and narrow path. With no diversion allowed.
Edit:
Creative:". ...Once something is known it is no longer a belief.... I have understanding and acceptance"
But hasn't thinking like that been a factor in science ignoring new advances or refusing to discredit poor ones for a long periods of time. Can your acceptance break free from what is proved to be true? Can it go beyond the rules or is it limited to them?

I am a proud atheist. Once something is known it is no longer a belief.I accept that there is no credible, scientific or reliable evidence for the existence of god, gods or the supernatural.I dont have faith. I have understanding and acceptance. The reason christians have varing opinions>they cant even agree with themselves thats why there is so many religions fighting against each other. Talk about confusion!

Atheists are most usually skeptics. The reason they can more commonly agree is that they both are reliant on the same materials. Evidence, tangibility. If something is logical it can be more easily agreed by logical beings rather than beings who choose their truths from an ancient book of metaphors which claim to be the only right.

the only ONE thing that atheists believe is that there is no higher power. that's just basically it.
christian beliefs are so varied because it's tons adn tons of history compiled (of course to atheists, christianity is fairytale) and because it is history, things said by people then are interpreted differently, there's this group who will say "look, this guy is saying this and that" and then there';s another group who realises "hey, what this guy is REALLY trying to say is so on and so forth".
ok what i'm trying to say is, i would say being an atheist is easier than being a christian, because atheists just have to say "there is no higher power" and then every fellow atheist will be "yeah that's tr\ue!" "YOU ARE RIGHT!". you get what i mean?
man this is so hard to explain. i'm not doing a good job explaining this. sorry!!

yes, i can imagine the sprited debate
"i don't believe in God"
"i believe God doesn't exist!"
"don't believe"
"doesn't exist!"
for the record, yes, atheists disagree with each other, they're not robots. most agree Jesus was a real person, some say He never existed. Some say religion is mind control, some just don't believe in God.

The bible can be interpreted in many ways, and there are different denominations of Christianity that have different views on certain things. But speaking for all Christians, we all believe that God created everything and Jesus came to save us from our sins. The rest is just interpretations.

I think you are mistaken. The only sure thing that atheists have in common is no belief in god. Other then that. Opinions differ as with any other group.
But, just because opinions differ, doesn't mean we can not see the validity of someone Else's point of view, and agree with that.

well, we only have one thing to not believe in. God doesn't exist, so all the detail about Jesus, the trinity, atonement, hell etc is just moot. Life is much simpler for us.
By the way, we disagree on lots of other things
