to pass through some non-EU countries like Serbia (i'm interested in making a long trip and i want to know the countries where i might need the passport and visa. i know that through all EU countries i can pass with my ID card)

On your ID should be a list with the names of all countries that you can travel with that card.
If it is not there, or not up to date, look up the information on your country's foreign affairs website.

Which countries you can travel has nothing to do with where they use the Euro, that are two different things.

According to my EU ID, now half a year old, I can travel all EU countries as well as Andorra, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Norway, San Marino, Iceland, Switzerland and Turkey.

In January the rules change a little, but I doubt more countries will be added.
I am not sure whether a passport will be enough for Serbia or a visa is needed. (I do not even remember if it is in the EU.) But go to the embassy website for Serbia in your country, or the consulate website and you get the information you need.

Yes, if it's outside the EuroZone you need a passport. But not a Visa unless you plan to stay there for a few weeks.
