Yes it is normal.
Research on breeding should have been done before you bred your dogs and just so you know YA is not breeding 101.
You better start doing some research about pregancy care, whelping, post whelping care and how to care for newborns, you also had better start saving some money ( thousands) because Chihuahuas have a difficult time whelping and many need C- sections.
The best thing to do is to spay and neuter your pets right away and avoid all of the potential problems that can go wrong with breeding.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PULL THEM APART! This can injure the male! They are hooked, and probably may result in a pregnancy. They will unhook soon, just keep an eye on them, but it's completely normal durning mating. Females are in "heat" for 3 weeks and should not be allowed around a male for anytime that she's in heat, because if she does become receptive, things like this happen. I'm not going to gripe at you like some of the others, they've done enough of that, it happens sometimes, but you will be expecting puppies soon probably and should have the female spayed before unwanted puppies start developing

This does occasionally happen and there isn't much you can do; you really just have to wait for both dogs to relax and they'll come apart on their own. If more than an hour or so goes by and they are still stuck together, call the vet. The vet can give you the best advice. In the future, having both dogs spayed and neutered will help decrease the chance of this ever happening again.

Do not try to pull them apart.. you will hurt both of them that way.
This is called a "tie".. its how dogs mate. They will separate soon.
Obviously if you dont know that much about breeding, you need to make an appt ASAP to have the female spayed to prevent a pregnancy. Pregnancy, whelping, and raising puppies gets much more complicated (an expensive) than the simple act of mating.
You should also get your male neutered.

Um.. Lets see THATS HOW DOGS BREED. Duh. Why do you have un fixed animals if you don't even know what a tie is. And why are you breeding a dog that has a bad temperment. Hello, lets breed more mean ankle biters. Stupid. Your ***** is probably pregnant now, so you should take her in to be spayed. I can't imagine you being able to care for pups. And half of all chihuahua pregnancies end in c-sectoin. Which runs you about 800 to 1000 dollars.

Yeah it is normal when they are BREEDING---in other words they are making puppies.
Seeing as how you also stated that you can't get close because he'll bite you ("hes like that") this is obviously a pair that should not be bred.
Call the vet. tomorrow and see if you can get her examined and spayed AND until you see the vet keep them apart!!!!!yes, they will separate in a bit. When they do, grab one and secure it in another room.
Please get him fixed too---he doesn't sound like he has the right temperment...

Your male just bred the female. If you don't want accidental puppies, have call the vet to make appointments to have both of them spayed and neutered.

Yes, it's normal. It's called a tie. Hold onto the female so she can't pull away before the male's swelling goes down. He can very easily get hurt, you know.
