Do you think he should have resigned?
I think it's total madness, if you have to wallpaper over anythink you say about immigration, what do you think? should we lay out the red carpet to all foreigners?

No its not fair and eventually "New" Lie-bour will have to face facts.

Its OK for the politicians to scream "Racism" when someone dares to tell the truth about immigration because they are all living in big comfy houses on big fat salaries and immigration does not affect them in any way (other than to allow them to hire cheap cleaners and au pairs).

But the man in the street who loses his job when his company takes on Polish workers, the self employed plumber who finds the market is flooded with EU workers and can't get work, the homeless family left in a homeless hostel while asylum seekers get housed in front of them, all these people are the ones suffering. I guess the politicians don't care about them.

Your question includes several incorrect statements.

Hastilow was a candidate for the Tories, not an MP. He did not tell the truth. Powell's speech (even then, in 1968) was racist, focusing on Black immigration to the UK. Why then did Hastilow reference it almost forty years later when the focus on immigration is White people coming from EU nations? As Peter Hain correctly indicates, Hasitlow exposes the, "soft underbelly of racism" in the Conservative party. And yes, he should have resigned.

Powell was wrong. I do not (like the Roman) observe the streets foaming with much blood like the Tiber.

I was pleased when he came out with his statement. No, he should not have resigned. Often the truth hurts. It seemed that there was a glimmer of hope. Not that I am anti immigration, more that there is little or no adequate control. We should put a block on any immigrant that has no job to go to, no home to go to and has the means of self support in the event the job is not enjoyed.

No is the simple answer. I am not happy that the Conservative party under Dave have not got the guts to tell the PC labour lot to FO. Powell said what so many people think. Many first wave immigrants feel that we no longer have a floodgate to close. Labour has sold us down the river to the EU. The Italians ( EU members I think) are kicking out immigrants. Guess to which country they are now trying to get. Yep UK. So many lies by the Labour party and they still think they know the answers. Its time to say Stop. They will not they do not have the first clue on how to run the country. We will be the minority in 25 years thanks to Blair and Brown.

Lets face it, you all know that Cameron is lying through his teeth as far as immigration and the prospect of a referendum. You all know that none of the mainstream political parties are listening to the people of this country. We all watch as Brown and Cameron ignore us and at the same time, the television and the media continue to churn out propaganda with regards to the most important changes in this country since 1066. Yet you mouth off your indignation as if this prospective MP was the only one telling the truth.

UKIP and the BNP are both in there fighting the cause and most importantly both Listening. Many are now openly calling the BNP the listening party so if your suddenly shocked at Nigel's treatment he can always join UKIP or the BNP. If your that worried get off your ars? and support those that are listening instead of those that are dictating their unacceptable idea's onto you.

Seems a shame that the tories are the ones in public life that seem to have any honour these days. Sir Ian Blair should have resigned as soon as the guilty verdict was announced.

He along with many others have succumbed to the don't rock the boat syndrome,
Enoch was right and pillared by the limp wrist-ed so called government of the day,
when Os-ma bin Mohammad or Ali Von Mugabe are prime minister and chancellor,
then they will understand that Britain and the British way of life
are no more,
Enoch said the streets would run with a river of blood
he was right then and now its Britain's life blood that flows down our gutters.
