Self awareness can fill the void. I felt the same way at one time in my life and I had to figure out what changes I needed to make in order to feel better about my life. I found that a lot of my problem lied in my perception of life. Do you know that your personal life philosophy effects how you feel and behave? Maybe you need to consider some new ways of thinking you havent considered before. Ive found reading books to be of tremendous help. Try this one: 'A Guide To Rational Living' by Albert Ellis.

I can only hope to help you as I have never experienced exactly what you are going through. You might have some "low self esteem" and "depression" or even "depersonalization" or "derealization" which are "dissociative disorders". You can look up each of the conditions mentioned by typing the words in quotes into Yahoo! web search. In each case there will be a number of links come up; wikipedia has good summary's; info on causes and cures and references.
Joy or happiness are achieved by knowing for a certainty that you are loved by someone and have someone to love in return, by having something to keep your mind and body occupied in a personally satisfactory and productive way, and by achieving a consistent, positive, outlook on life. The knowledge and reciprocity of being loved and loving in return are the most important. In order to be loved you have to give of yourself.
I hope this helps you get back to normal, good mental health, peace and Love!

You're probably not going to like this answer, but get over yourself...get out there and help other folks who are worse off than you. Work ia a kitchen for the homeless, deliver meals to the homebound, volunteer in a nursing home. Get busy and stop feeling sorry for yourself.

Please, go see your Family Practice Dr. It really sounds like Clinical depression. Some Drug manufacturers have questionaires on their websites that might help. You can answer them and print them out to take to your Dr with you. It might make it easier to ask for help if you had that piece of paper to help speak for you. And, if you do have to be on a medication, it may not be needed forever. I know that Zoloft maker have a questionaire on their site.

Sounds to me that you need some up beat friends, get out and get a new haircut, and outfit, and tell yourself your worth it, smile, and flirt alittle, but be careful, and lastly, laugh out loud, laughter is the best medicine
