Melekai is a 4 yr old Lab. She is very spoiled but is some what contained right now. She loves chasing squirel's and now bunnies. But she snores like the dad & ruff ruff in her sleep? It is really funny. Any ideas?

Yep, like everyone else has said, Melekai's behavior is normal. Research has shown that dogs dream, just as we do. It's believed that they are either acting out something they did during the day, doing something they enjoy (in Melekai's case, chasing squirrels and bunnies), or dealing with a situation that didn't quite have closure. Very often, dogs that snore are overweight. My Golden snores sometimes and spends his dreams chasing his ball. His paws move like he's running, he makes funny little barks, and sometimes he even tries to find his ball by pushing his nose around on his bed.

This is completely normal. It happens when dogs have dreams, mostly bad ones. they are either scared in their dream or they are barking at a cat. no one really knows but my dog does it too. it cant be stopped. its kinda like when we yell out in the middle of the night from a dream. happens to me all the time. just ignore it she is probably dreaming about chasing a GIANT SQUIREL if thats what she likes. haha

No. This is not unusual. She is probably just having a good or bad dream. My two dogs bark and make sounds when they sleep because they are dreaming of bones, squirrels, bunnies, ect. Or because he is having a bad dream (which I don't really know what they would be dreaming about then.). Dogs also scratch and stuff in their sleep.
Don't be worried.

Sounds cute. My dog ruffs sometimes too and moves her paws in her sleep, as if she were running and chasing something in her dreams. I think it's totally normal.

Well I have a dog and she barks in her sleep that is totally normal for dogs at least that is what all of my friends say about when I first got my puppy. Your dog is probably dreaming about another dog or he/she is thinking about being a super dog! LOL!

My dog growls in his sleep too. It really is funny. I think he dreams about someone taking his bone or something. I really believe they dream just like we do only about things that involve them.

when dogs dream they dream about things that have happened to them before. Alot of dogs dream that they are running. Its perfectly normal for your dog to do that.
