How can my family go back to living overseas?

Hi!
my family and I lived in Italy at Aviano air base for 8 1/2 years.
I'm half italian so basically all my family is there. My mom got stationed to go back to the states.
I've been living in Texas for 3 years now. i really miss Italy. My mom just retired from the military and I was wondering how can we get back over there?
There is a 5 year rule to stay but I want to stay there permanently.
My mom doesn't want to work for Aafes because she says she won't get paid alot at all and that's like the only job I know where you can stay as long as you want. What other jobs can my mom get that pay good and allow you to stay? My dad would need a job too. Any ideas? What about any local italian jobs?

when you are old enough, emigrate. Unless your parents are willing to emigrate sooner, you are stuck.

How about a DOD school teacher? Or if she has the appropriate schooling, maybe teach at one of the Colleges on base. Ummm, or she could look into Civilian jobs on base. AAFES isn't the only thing out there. It all depends what she is qualified for.

I am not sure about the 5 year rule, but they could work for a defense contractor like Northrop Grumman, L-3 Communications, CACI. However your mom is changing her life after 20 years. Let her find her way and examine her options. I retired in Europe. But my life here is unsure and unstable.

Best way. DOD school teacher. And Aviano was a blast...so I dont blame you.....was TDY there an dtried to get stationed there. I was number two on the list unfortunately No 1 wanted to go there too...what a bum....even if he was a buddy

Start a business near Aviano AB - a bar, strip joint, restaurant, pizza parlor, gelato shop, etc.... caters to American servicemen!


When you turn 18 you can go back to Italy on your own! ciao!
