"Politics and religion are obsolete, the time has come for science and spirituality."
Do you agree?
I read this a few years ago in The Fountains of Paradise, but I think Arthur C. Clarke was quoting someone else.

Arthur C Clarke was quoting the first Indian Prime Minister, Pandit Nehru.

I think it's an excellent quote. :)

The quote is ridiculous. Al Gore gets a Noble Peace for a Global warming (editorial) short film. Scientists have to be joking! The voting board has to be joking. Spirituality is not the answer - until mass audiences can all aggree on who made us and where we came from, religion is a self-perservation contract. Praying to crystals, tiki-gods, a bank account or at a church just will not make us better people. This comes from within. Within each of ourselves. That's why mass spirituality will not and cannot be accepted by all peoples. Talk to a Muslim - if I don't agree with them or they don't agree with what I say, I get car bombed.

It's time we elect a man who is willing to say what is politically incorrect and straight in your face recommendations for change, serious nationwide, worldwide change. Someone who is not willing to sacrifice national security to pad his bank personal account (he should already have a financial security in place). Look, if Hillary can raise $21,000,000 in a quarter her campaign, she's in the wrong business... She's a snake-oil sales woman. *side note: If she can'e keep her husband from poking his hired help (secretaries), she sure as hell cannot run our United States of America.

Politics are not obsolete - we live them every day. 1st and 2nd Ammendment make sure of that.

Religion - Have you ever heard of Tom Leykis Show? Are you familiar with the Oral Roberts University Scandal...

I think it is hard to turn your head from science with the proof right there in front of you. After all, didn't God give us the smarts to figure out these things?
As far as spirituality is concerned, I think it is personal. But, it would be a Godly thing to do to allow your neighbor to have a different spiritual idea than you do without being negative. Open minds are hard to find these days.
