Imagine, you look through your childs candy and find a pamphlet that says "God doesn't exist" and goes on to talk about the belief that god/s don't exist, there is no heaven or hell, we will all just rot when we die, no such thing as an afterlife etc etc. What would you do then?? In response to my last question lots of people said that It is the RIGHT of people to give out what they want on Halloween even pamphlets about religious beliefs, but where do you draw the line? What kind of beliefs are acceptable to promote during Halloween? Yeah sure you can throw it out, talk with your kids about it etc but is it really ok for others to express their beliefs, whatever they may be to your children on Halloween? Just so you know I would never do that, I don't think it is right at all to use Halloween to peddle your personal beliefs. I guess other people think it's ok, no matter what is being peddled...

So is it acceptable or not to give children pamphlets about religion or beliefs on Halloween? Other answeres said that if you are begging for candy at people's doors they have the right to give you whatever they want, even pamphlets about their beliefs no matter what they are.

I am telling you I would not be happy no matter what beliefs were being peddled, I don't think it is right to push your beliefs on others at ANY time. Especially not Halloween, I may not believe in God/s or religion but I would not press that on others, especially children. I would be just as offended to have ppl hand out pamhlets about atheism as I would be about people handing out pamphlets about Christianity, JW, Buddism, Paganism.. anything at all. Halloween is not the time to target children by handing out religious propaganda of any kind. Why can't people just stick to candy?

No, it is not okay. My grandkids came home with that crap, and my daughter threw it away, after she showed it to me!' Look what some kind individual gave my daughter in place of candy. Isn't that something'? she said.
My grandsons had them in there bags, too. If my son and daughter wanted their kids to get religion, they would and have taken the kids to church. This goes beyond preaching at the door! Your door. This is invasion of privacy, in the worst way.

you should try to push your beliefs on anyone at anytime no matter what the occasion. Halloween is about candy, and dressing up if you don't want to pass out candy then don't. They aren't begging at your door they are trick or treating, they are there for candy i know that if i got pamphlets of information on some weirdo's belief i would be pissed even if it was something that i believe in like the non existence of god. It's not right to push your beliefs on other people, especially your neighbors children. If you don't want to pass out candy and participate in Halloween then don't, but don't use it as a way to push your beliefs on little kids who don't know any better.

I think its not acceptable to give anything other than candy and other little treats such as toys to kids during halloween. It's not a time for you to fling your doctrine or disbelief. I was given a christian pamphlet when i was a little kid and i tossed it. It wasn't candy so it didn't matter. I'm sure even kids could recognize that.

Its never OK to hand out pamphlets to children; no matter what religion or what time of the year. Kids have enough trouble with their parents and religious leaders currently messing up their belief system and any spirituality they would have, they don't need you too. Adults are fair game.

No it's not all right. Halloween is know for giving out candy not pamphlets. If they don't feel the same they can shut off their porch light and not give out anything. If I want my children to learn about religion, I'll take them to church, thank you.

If parents are going to let their children beg for candy then the little beggars deserve pamphlets instead of candy.

Isn't that just adding to the waste in our landfills? I'd just stick to candy. Giving their kids a sugar high after 8:00 pm is revenge enough.

Don't you mean what kind of beliefs are acceptable to you to receive on Halloween. Remember, there are all sorts of different people out there. If you believe in God you probably believe that He/She made us so different. Is there any wonder there are so many different ways to believe and worship? Open minds are much fuller than closed ones.

It is your job as a parent to look through your children's halloween basket and make sure that what they got is safe. If you don't want them reading pamphlets, then take them away. People have the right to hand them out if kids are at their door asking for free stuff.
