It depends; I think that once two people who are committed are at least 25 or older then the age difference can be up to 10-15 years. Those between 18-25 should have a maximum of 5 years; those from 14-18 should have a 1 year difference, and anyone who is younger than 14 shouldn't be dating.

I would say there are no limits to love and age is not a problem. However, in real life and from my own experience I have gathered that it is not wise to get involved with someone who is too young or too old for you.
And I am very liberal when I say "too old"!. By too old I mean more than 20yrs older than you. I am very much aware that there are plenty of happy relationships that have 20+ years apart, but I have found mine to be very hard to maintain and hold due to the huge age difference.
So as far as I am concerned, when both individuals are adult about 15 to 20 years age difference is the most for a relationship to last long and be successful. Not that I have antyhing against large age differences but I know it is hard!
Hope you guys work out whatever the age difference it is between you!

That is dificult to say.... it depends on a few factors. For instance if the girl is 20 she should probably stay with a 10 year window. If she is 40 she can make the age difference bigger, but it really al depemds most on how she feels about the guy as a person.... in other words a personal choice. I am in my 30's and have dated from 18-50

10 to 15 but it all depends on your maturity level and what your comfortable with. If your 15 and the otherperson is 25, obviously theres a problem because you cannot do the same things together or go to the same places and its against the law. If you 25 the other person is 40 or 45. What do you have in common? music? movies? lifestyles? nope. chances are its not gonna last because of the age differences and interests levels.

I've dated all over the age range. When I was in my late 20s one of my principal "dates" was a very wonderful man in his early sixties. At the same time I had a really cute Hispanic bf who was barely out of his jeans--I mean teens. Now I'm...well, not old, just not middle aged anymore, and I'm dating various men (and two women) ranging in age from 25 - 72. Obviously I'm not having sex with all of these people, but dating is a social thing, right? Not just having sex. (Isn't the term for sexual dating, "seeing someone?"
Age is an illusion.

Whats that rule? Let's see #1: No one under 18, 'cause that's just too sleazy... and illegal. Then there's this mathematical formula: No one under half your age + seven years. So if you were 30, you shouldn't date anyone under 22 years old. If you were 40, don't date anyone under 27 years old. IMHO, you can fudge the math a little and I think this formula just applies to men, I don't know what it is for women. Of course if you're a millionaire and you're in your 60's or 70's and are in politics and a Republican (cough... Fred Thompson cough Rudy Guiliani cough, cough), you can apparently rob as many cradles as you want for trophy wives and no one in the corporate controlled media will call you on it.

Really depends on how old you are..young I would say 3 to 5 years but as you get older the acceptable age will spread. I myself live with a man who is 19 years my senior and it is acceptable but just barely

Depends on both your ages. If you are a teen, and he is much older, ask yourself why he is not with a woman his own age. Sorry, but there is usually some type of problem with man who needs to seek partners from the kiddie pool. He will have some sort of sexual dysfunction with women in his age group, and seeks out younger women as they are easier to manipulate and control. Because of their nievite, he can tell them anything, or get them wrapped up in head games which seem to them as if he is holding all the knowledge their parents won't tell them. This is a dangerous path to take.
However, if they are truly adults, then whatever makes them happy is their business. Many times, older women can have a successful relationship with a much younger man, as long as he is clear that he is behaving like a man, and not just seeking another mother to support and nurture him.

This very much depends. I think it is more important to focus on "stage of life" than number of years. A 16 year old dating a 12 year old would be kind of gross, mostly because one is in high school and one is much less mature. On the other hand, a 25 year old dating a 29 year old is no big deal. So I guess you want to make sure you're on the same plane in life. Someone who graduated high school and is working and living on their own or someone who is in college is leading a very different lifestyle than someone still in high school.
