God said homosexuality is a sin. Heaven is sinless. Therefore, gays are not welcome into heaven.

If you have lied in your life, and you prayed for salvation, do you go to heaven?
I don't condone homosexuality at all, but in Gods eyes, a sin is a sin. His thoughts are not like are thoughts nor is his ways like our ways. The great thing about salvation is that even the worst sinner in the eyes of an earthly beings, can be saved by the grace (receiving forgiveness you do not deserve) of Jesus. ONLY Christ can be judge of this. We can never know the condition of anothers heart.
I would have to say that there are those who actually know it is a sin and make excuses for their own desires, but then there are those who really think that it is not, due to the teaching they have received.
BTW, God DOES mind if we lie, cheat, destroy our bodies, etc., he minds very much, again he is also merciful and full of grace. This is WHY we NEED a savior, we are just to sinful by our very nature, to live sin free. It comes down to whether or not a person knowingly knows the thing they do is a sin, and if they purposely defey God to do it. If you have been raised to know that purple is purple and then in high school they tell you, no, it is yellow, what do you do? What makes perfect logical sense to you, is now being changed to the contrary.
Which is worse, the straight person who goes to church every Sunday and sleeps through it, and never thinks of God throughout the week and cheats on their taxes and calls themselves a Christian or the gay person who goes to church every Sunday, lifts their hands up and praises the lord and listens intensively to what the preacher says and then goes home to read their bible daily and acts in every other way, how God would tell us to act and live, and calls themselves a Christian? Both are in a state of sin, however, who really loves the Lord? ONLY God know the condition of the heart. This is why it is not for us to pass judgement, we simply do not know. Both could be saved, both could not be saved, only God knows.
Those that call themselves Christians and are so sure about it that they become judgemental and unkind to those THEY think are not worthy are in a worse place than those they criticize, for they have made themselves full of pride, just like Satan.
We, as Christians, are to spread the GOOD NEWS of salvation through faith in Christ Jesus and by HIS GRACE, not ours. Jesus sat and ate with the sinners of the day, not the high and mighty Pharassies, he detested them because they judged others and did not mind their own ways.

You have to believe that Jesus Christ is your personal Lord and Savior and died on the cross for our sins. You also have to practice the word of God not just read it. If you don't feel guilty sinning then the Holy Spirit is not working in you and you need to reassess the day you thought you found salvation. It's not OK to lie, cheat and steal in anybodies religion so ignore that bit of advice. When you sin you should feel the Holy Spirit telling you that is a sin then work on trying to first catch yourself, then finally deleting it all together. If you still continue to sin and disregard the feelings of guilt then you don't truly believe in God and instead blatantly disrespect him and that will get you an eternity separated from God. GOD BLESS!!!

God minds us lying, cheating and eating things that destroy our bodies. He minds us sinning therefore Jesus chose to die on the cross for us so that he can take away our sins. He minds us destroying our body because our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Doing those are sinning against God, therefore we have to repent.
As for gay going to heaven, God has indicated in the bible that he created Adam and Eve. Therefore, he expects a normal male and female couple. However, gays can still go to heaven if they repent. If not, I doubt they will enter heaven.

I'm going to answer this question in a way that is different.
Why do angels have wings?
To fly to Heaven.
Where is Heaven?
Heaven is "up".
When standing on the Earth, what do you find when you go up?
Space.
Where is the Earth?
In space.
So if the Earth is in space, why do angels need wings?
If there really is a "Heaven" human beings don't get to decide who gets in and who doesn't - only "God" does.

No one knows but God. We are all sinners in some way or another. I don't know what God will forgive and not forgive. All I know is that I hope and trust He will have mercy on my soul as I am a totally flawed human who falls so short. Our God knows what we struggle with and has made ways for us to get around it. I believe that if we choose to do something that we know is wrong we will be held accountable for that. I struggle w/ smoking. It doesn't say in the bible that you shouldn't smoke, however, I know in my heart of hearts that it is a sin and something I need to deal with as soon as possible as it is not pleasing to God.

Most mainstream Christians believe that homosexuality is a sin, contrary to Scripture. However, most mainstream Christians also believe that all sin is forgiveable, and one sin over another would not preclude anyone from going to heaven, since Jesus died as a sacrifice for all sin.

What's the obsession with gays?
I guess, in theory, it would depend on whether or not they felt "guilty" about being gay and asked forgiveness. Depends on which denomination you ask I suppose. Not that it matters since heaven doesn't exist and neither does the evil hellfire.

If being gay is a dealbreaker for God when it comes to going to heaven, how intelligent or thorough is God's selection process, really? I'd expect a lot better from Him.
