I have posted questions before about this guy in one of my classes. Most people said that I should go for it, since he may have been giving me signs that he was interested in me. Some of the signs were staring at me a lot in the beginning, started talking to me, smiling, asking me personal questions, etc.
I recently started initiating the conversation and it seemed to really go smoothly. He formally introduced himself to me and shook my hand, is that just a friendly gesture? He also asked my full name and it seemed that he did not want to end the conversation when we did (we both had to go to different classes).
Also, he held doors for me before, but he is in front of me, then walks behind me and holds the door and allows me to walk first. Not many guys do that forme and I don't notice him ever do it for anyone else.
We have developed a little friendship since we are always joking with each other and smiling a lot when we see each other.
What do you guys think??

These gestures sound like good signs, but I'm wondering about the part where you said the guy, (his name?) was asking you personal questions.
When you don't know someone real well, they shouldn't be asking delicate questions so soon!
Just beware and watch for any signs that sound "off-ish". I'm only saying it because anyone can put their "best foot forward" when it comes to meeting others, but also there are "subtle" signs that show up too, ones of this nature I mentioned............. personal ?????s.
Sooner or later you will know if this new guy is one you can trust or not. be careful!

he likes you, not many guys hold the door for girls. thats a big sign he likes you and he is a real gentle men GO FOR HIM!
let him know he likes you but not too pushy
