Why does everyone try to shove it down your throat? If you have a certian religion, fine that's a good thing. But why do some people try to convert you to their religion? I think it is disrespectful to take someone from one religion and try to talk them into having another one just because you do......

A few things on this...

First, it is possible to share your faith without "shoving" it down anyone's throat. I know that some are very belligerent in the way they promote their religion, but it's important to know that not all religious people are like that.

Second, I don't think there is anything necessarily disrespectful in questioning a belief system. It's all in how you go about it. Besides, I think we have an obligation to seek out the truth, and that requires critical thinking.

Third, while I can't answer for those of other religions, Christians share their faith for two primary reasons: 1) Christ commanded it, and 2) We believe that those who reject Christ will spend eternity in Hell. That's a pretty terrible thing. What kind of people would we be to genuinely believe something like that and yet not try to warn anyone?

Neither any one is shoving religion down in your throat nor any one is trying to convert.

Any one who thinks his religion is best of all has an obligation from God to let other humans know that they all are saved from hell fire.

We do not force any one to convert. We only give information to who asks us for information about Islam.

What else a better way to live than working for God?

You realize you're shoving your religious views down everyone else's throat.

Atheism is a form Hinduism (worship of nature)
In the beginning absolutely nothing created the heavens and the earth.

i dont think its supposed to be offensive b/c the person finds such peace and happiness with their religion and wants you as their friends to have a share in the same feelings they get from their religion.

at least thats my take on it.

People just tend to think what they believe is THE truth, that's all. Just do as the Bible says"Study to show thyself approved". And by the way, take no offense.

i guess its because they feel their religion is the right path and if your a friend they will want you to be on the way to heaven.

and the other people i know who do such things are preachers and that's their job anyway.

If someone feels it is the right thing then they would do it. What doesn't kill you can only make you stronger.

God commands His people to go and preach the gospel. If we disobey God, He will punish us.

If folks obeyed you, then the church would not exist.
