There has to be something else you can do with a hot dog besides boil it! Does anyone have any good suggestions on how to fix it so it tastes better?

Grilling always makes meats taste good/better. Or, you can do something my father used to do...fry them. Split them down the middle, but not all the way through. Fry them split open in a pan (you can use oil or butter - whichever works best for you) and them put them on bread or in a bun. Try it and see.

*ugh* I wouldn't ever boil it, that's for sure. My momed loved them that way... I'll never know why. Cook it on a grill, or fry it with just a touch of butter or non-fat spray. Or use your Goerge Foreman grill (I threw mine out after using twice), if you have one.

Grilling makes them much better. But I also like them...

Split them open and put cheese in the split and baked them in the oven....

Fry in bacon grease using an iron skillet (preferred).

I like to slice mine and fry them. I put them in a bun top them with scambled eggs, chili, cheese, jalapenos and sour cream (yum). I also grill them.
