Genesis 2:2-3 And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. {3} Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made. Exodus 20:8-11 "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. {9} Six days you shall labor and do all your work, {10} but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. {11} For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.

God ordered that the last day of the week, Saturday always be the Sabbath. From the time the sun sets on Friday til it sets on Saturday - Sabbath. And the first Christians also honored the Sabbath on Saturday. States this right in the Bible, in the book of Acts.
But at the end of the forth century a Roman Cesar, that had come to believe that Jesus was the Christ, did not like it that the "sun worshipers" were having fun murdering Christians on Saturdays. They stood out going to their services. So he ordered the Sabbath to be changed to Sunday. This way they would not stand out and get killed.
He also soon ordered some of the "sun worshipers" customs in to the now and then Catholic church, to try and get them to become Christians.....
So anyone that is honoring Sunday is obeying a long dead Cesar. Not God.
The seven names of the days of the week are from Roman names. Sunday is the day of the then thought most powerful of all the (false) gods. Wednesday is the day of weddings. (They must have had interesting weekends back then) Saturday is named after the planet Saturn,...

first of all, the sabbath is a commandment got here across contained in the former covenant which turned right into a contractural contract between both events, God and Israel. Christians, as an party, can not be held to the circumstances of a covenant they were no longer a celebration to. Secondly, preserving the regulation and the sabbath does no longer bring about a unmarried going to heaven. the grants linked with the former covenant were strictly actual in nature. the recent covenant is the only which has grants that are non secular and linked with salvation and eternal existence. Thirdly, God rested on THAT seventh day of creation. The narrative does no longer say God rests on each and every seventh day. He blessed and sanctified THAT day, and by no skill each and every seventh day. do not study into Scripture what isn't there. The devil needs human beings to be below condemnation, and that is what the former covenant regulation did. That changed into all it would want to to; condemn the guy who transgressed it. that is why Paul calls it the ministration of lack of life and condemnation in II Corinthians financial disaster 3. You state that God did not replace the day. This actuality is irrelevant and deceptive. it isn't about replacing days. that's about ending one covenant and the starting up of yet another, and the recent covenant does no longer require the observance of an afternoon or days. If some mistakenly keep Sunday questioning that's to be talked about like the sabbath, this does no longer validate the sabbath. An blunders does no longer, and can't coach something else to be genuine. .

no offense to you but this is a rediculous argument that people get into. no one actually knows the exact day that God picked for sabbath. all we know is that it was the seventh day that he rested in his creation and declared it holy. sunday and saturday are english words. english had not even been invented when God established the sabboth. the point is that you should work 6 days and rest on the 7th....even if the 7th is on a wednesday....you are still giving respect and honor to God....but the truth is that the sabbath was an example given to man by God...a gift for man....not to be made a religious law. God loves us. He only gave us a sabbath because he knew we needed rest and enjoyment...recreation....fun....stress relief because we are in our mortal bodies. Which day we pick is not important but since our culture generally uses sunday as the sabbath...well...its all about what's in the heart...not some religious duty.

The Jews observe the correct Sabbath day because they were the only ones who kept record of it. Pagans brought the Sunday Sabbath with them when they joined Christianity. The New Testament clearly shows that all of the Old Testament laws where done away with when Jesus died on the cross. Love God and love your neighbour with all your heart, soul and mind. That's it.

Jesus never said to remember the sabbath and keep it holy.
And if you traveled to America going east from Israel instead of west, paying attention to sunsets, your seventh day sabbath would begin on Thursday at sunset and continue through Friday.
But those who keep the sabbath can't understand this. Anyone else has no problem understanding it.

Yes, in the Jewish religion, Saturday is the holy day. Originally, it was said that God created the world in six days and rested on the seventh, which was a Saturday. However, because our religions split apart, Christians believe that Sunday is the holy day. It depends on your religion now.
