Your co-workers are just people like you only older in the years on this earth...you don't have to treat them any differently..you can talk about current events in your town or wherever...talk to them like you talk to anyone else. Ask about their families....anything....you might be surprised with what good friends you end up with.

Lots of things, TV shows you watch (they might watch Grey's Anatomy or Desperate Housewives) or other shows you may like too), sports, most of them probably have grand kids, grandparents love to talk about their grand kids, something you really enjoyed doing over the weekend or a vacation you are planning or one you had, current events, talk about your family where you grew up older people love to hear stories, the list is endless.
Just because they are a few years older doesn't mean they don't have some of the same interests you have.
Just relax and talk to them like you would an older sister or your parents and you'll do fine.

Yeah, that's a tough one. Current events are always good, but most 20 y.o. don't have much interest in the rest of the world. I did pay attention to some news events when I was in your situation. That was something to talk about. I also listened to their experiences and asked some questions. I tried to remain neutral in attitude and work ethic, and they all thought I was a pretty good guy.

Your at work, you don't have to have personal conversations with co workers. Just keep it professional.

Everyone can be interesting. If you find yourself totally unable to enter into discussion with them, this is merely a reflection of your own inability to do so. You probably can learn alot from them. This is not to say that you would be denying yourself. However, they have been around for longer than you have, and for that reason alone you should first enter into their "world" before expecting them to come into yours.

you should be at the age now where we are all leveled out and can talk on the same level. speak what interests you and be more confident. believe it or not the older crowd can often learn from the younger crowd too.

simply by fact of this why at one factor in my existence whilst elevating my daughter as a single mom i in my opinion lied, after being consistently pushed to this factor, and reported i grew to become into relationship a former classmate who lived out the state yet visited his kin two times a month. It grew to become into the only way i grew to become into in a position to place a end to the consistent pushing to this factor without me dropping it and starting to be truly nasty. i comprehend it grew to become into the coward's way out despite if it stopped the pushing by co-workers and my existence grew to become greater non violent at paintings. simply by fact of this I found out that some co-workers do no longer share something approximately their very own lives. solid success!

talking about their children is always a good thing. plus, people in that age group like to feel important and needed, so always ask for advice on stuff. its not really that much different from when you are all the same age. they just tend not to party as much.

Might try asking about their hobbies/interests or books they have read and can recommend. Have they travelled and where to.
