Toyota never wanted to be the largest car maker in the world. Now the quality and illusion of quality is gone and consumer reports and JD Power have noticed people are not as safisified with Toyota. Still great cars mostly with less power than the Nissan equal priced car. But Nissan is really trying to be the car maker you think of for quality. So much so they have hired lots of toyota engineers. Toyota took most of its enegineers to overseas. So time will tell.

Toyota by far. Nissans are more sportier and I would rather have a Maxima over a Camry (Maxima is my favorite car for the money) but Toyota is more reliable. A lot of Nissans seem to have problems with brake noise.

Toyota is the greater ideal automobile. I used to paintings for Nissan Motor Corp decrease back in the previous due 80s- Mid 90s. Nissan was once purely as sturdy, whether it is high quality has been going downhill via fact the mid 90s. Now they get their sales by way of offering greater useful engines than their opposition. nevertheless they are no longer what they was once in the build high quality dept.

Both are Japanese cars, so they are both very reliable. Nissan autos are sportier and better looking in my opinion. I would make the decision based on the particular vehicle you are looking at and what best suits your needs and desires. Good luck!
