I think organized religion doesn't give much room for developing a personal relationship with god. It's difficult to want to believe in anyone or anything when organized religion uses scare tactics and threats (like hellfire). Fear breeds hatred of oppression, a symptom of organized religion. Whereas, peace and knowing righteousness breeds faith. I think children should be educated by theologians of many religions so that they can develop their own opinions, beliefs and relationship with god without the fear and threats organized religion inflicts.

I don't think the concept of religion is a bad one, and certainly people live healthier lives with a certain amount of ritual in them.
Where you get into trouble is when people start taking advantage of the believers. ANY organization can become bad when it is corrupt.
I also feel that any religion that feels it has the right to persecute others is simply immoral. One's religious beliefs do not give you ANY rights except within that religion.

Mankind will constantly have disagreements. those will bring about fights and wars. faith is merely the rallying cry to inspire the troops. What we rather need is a international college equipment the place all little ones can learn the adjustments between all different little ones interior the international, learn why they suspect otherwise, learn the version between appropriate and incorrect and in turn, develop solid little ones of their very own. Then perhaps in some generations, we could desire to all get alongside. yet as long as there are grasping politicians, there'll be conflict, regardless what faith they're.

The only problem I've ever had with organized religion is that too many people act as though belonging to a church or having faith somehow excuses them from the responsibility of thinking for themselves, or forming their own opinions.

Many if not most organized religious groups are profit-oriented. Out here, some even have hired guns to threaten the opposition. I feel like suggesting that we teach children all the various religious systems and styles and, when they grow up, let them choose which one to join.

My parents brought me up Catholic but always left the door open for me to choose what to believe in...
Yet, i stay with my religion because it has gotten me thru a lot of hard times, like the death of my uncle and grandmother, as well as small situations, and i also believe in the teaching of christianity.
Religion is a founding base for my life, and gets me thru the hard times and good times
I also respect many other religions, especially Judaism because of it's ability to stay as a community for thousands of years and keep their faith with them.
So my take is that organized religion is a good thing, as long as you let people chose what to believe in and what road to take.

I personally hate organized religion. I think that you should be allowed to believe in what you want when you want and no one should tell you that you are going to hell if you don't believe in god. And all that sinning stuff about you going to hell because you lied to your parents is a bunch of bull because doesn't it say that jesus died for our sins, and yet we still have to pay for them? I don't believe in god and if anyone else does that's great for them but please don't try to convert me to your religion!

Religion, in and of itself, is fine for one's spiritual guidance.
But ORGANIZED RELIGION should be disbanded altogether. Either that, or they should all lose their non-profit status and BE TAXED!
It's all about GREED... It's like feeding those "false prophets in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves," as it is written.
Peace be with you.

The paradox of religion is that although it preaches peace and salvation, it still wages countless wars in the name of god.
