...No speedodometer. They use a tachometer that determines engine rpm (how fast the engine turns) and keep the car at a certain rpm in a certain gear.

No Speedometers. As to the fuel gauge--They dont have a Normal-Full-1/2-Empty style gauge they have a fuel pressure gauge that has a needle that will flicker when the fuel pressure fluxuates--when the pick up in the tank has a nonconstant flow of fuel. The gauge I have on my race cars have both yhe needle and a red light that blinks Made by Longacre Corp.!!!!

Here's some information for you.

"The most common gauges used by NASCAR competitors include oil pressure, water temperature and tachometer, and most teams run a voltmeter to tell them if the electrical system is working properly. Dashboards are included in pre-race and post race inspections."

"We don't allow electronic gauges, the digital-type gauges," said Gary Nelson, NASCAR Winston Cup Series Director. "We allow a speedometer and it's not illegal to put one in, as long as it's mechanical. All of the gauges of the dashboard have to be analog. Most of them are mechanical."
