the BIble doesn't say that. it describes that our body is the HOly Spirit's dwelling place..it's GOd's temple..so we should upkeep a healthy body for Him.
drunkenness would equal to drinking tons of alcohol..and would mean destroying your body. drunkenness also leads to sin, which obviously God doesn't want you to do.
basically you can drink alcohol...but just don't get drunk.
Ephesians chapter 5:18
Don't be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life.
Instead, let the Holy Spirit fill and control you.
there are many more verses, just type in "Bible drunkenness" in google and you'll find a whole list of the Bible warning about drunkenness. C:

Ephesians 5:18 describes the topic of drinking and drunkenness.Even though it gives a direct command against drunkenness, it does not say that Christians should totally abstain from drinking alcohol.
(1) Romans 13:13--"Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in reveling and drunkenness."
(2) Galatians 5:19-21--"The works of the flesh are manifest, which are these: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousy, wrath, factions, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revelings, and the like; of which I tell you before, as I have also told you in past time, that they who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God."
(3) 1 Corinthians 6:9-10--"Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolators, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, not covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God."

Remember, Jesus didn't get a reputation as a wine-bibber and a glutton among the Pharisees because He was a teetotalling faster!
Scripture warns against OVER imbibing, not against drinking period, for "wine maketh merry the heart of man".

Nowhere does it say that, it promotes it to some extent, Jesus turning water into wine for example, as others have said the message is moderation.

It doesn't. In fact, they drink wine in it! It does say though to do things in moderation, and don't put one thing (like drinking) the number one thing of your life.
