First I want to say that is great that you want to become a cheerleader and good luck with the tryouts when it comes time for that. Also I do not mean to discourage you in anyway, but 70-80lbs is a little high. That would be about 8lbs each month. The safest way to loss weight is one pound a week. If you go by that then that would average about to be about 40lbs. It might not be exactly what you want but is still is alot of weight to loss and it is much healthier to loss weight that way.
All I can say is just eat healthier and exercise. By eat healthy that doesn't mean starve yourself and eat less like alot of girls think. That means more fruits, veggies and less junk food. Spread your meals out, instead of having 3 big meals a day have 5 or 6 small meals a day. That way you are eatting around the same amount of food, but this keeps your metabolism going (the metabolism is what digests food and helps you loss weight).
For exercising, start of with something small. If you have any friends/siblings or other family members who would be willing to walk/run/go to a gym with you then do that! If you have a treadmill then you can start there. Exercise 20-30 minutes a day, 3-5 times a day (because your body needs a few days to rest) and you'll be on the right track. I know your only 12 so you might not beable to do this, but if you could email/call/visit your family doctor you could speak with them and ask them for some tips.
Also, try to ignore what everybody says to you about your weight. That is just plain awful and rude that they would say that. Most people who make fun of other people do it because it makes them feel better about themselves, but it is so wrong to do!!! Nobody should ever make fun of somebody for being different. Also take into account that height plays a big role in weight aswell.
Good luck and just make sure to go about this safely!

if you weigh 190 lbs, yes you should be modifying your eating habits. Don't think of it as a diet, you need to make a life change so the weight will stay off. as far a s cheerleading goes, try out no matter how much you weigh, they may not make you a flyer, but if you are good and sharp they will probably put you on the team anyways. However, if you are doing badly in school and getting suspended and/or getting bad grades, they will drop you, so that is something else you will need to work on if you really want to cheer. My daughter (a little overweight herself) cheered for 5 years, and she loved it! I hope you make it, but more importantly, just take care of your health and grades. Here is a good website to help you get started: www.sparkpeople.com
and for those who think cheerleading is just "waving pom poms" and not fun, not true. it is very fun and competitive, and the practice for it alone will make you lose weight, they work very hard, and most don't even use pom poms

I think the whole issue the NFL has against cheerleading is stupid. If teams and their players are being distracted by the cheerleaders, then I feel it's the coaching staff's fault for not disciplining the players better. At the same time those players need to re-evaluate what's important, if cheerleaders are distracting them.

You could lose the weight. You seem very motivated. Weight Watchers helped me use 25 lbs and a friend of mine has lost more than 100 pounds. Keep practicing the cheer moves and you'll get plenty of exercise.
But remember, being cheery and upbeat, concerned with your friends, caring all these are attitudes judges look for. Be peppy!
You don't have to be slender to have those qualities.

It takes a while to drop a lot of weight, so lose weight very gradually.
Believe it or not there are men who want to make the wrestling team or compete in a UFC professional fight who have the same problem; these guys want to dump a lot of weight in a short period of time (like in days) and end up killing themselves to do it.
So go on an intelligent diet and lose weight very gradually, like over a period of many months.

no one is going to answer this question. It is way to long. I only read first line. If you want to be a cheerleader, then workout a little, eat right, and get breat implants. you need big boobs.
