I'm an American who spent about a year in the U.K. some years ago. Although, unlike yourself, I didn't feel a "need" to fall in love with an Irish/Enslish girl, I did - as it just "happended."
Aside from from a number of differences in our mutual use of slang.......we both, being fluent English speakers, had no problem communicating - that's a real plus as opposed to falling in love with another where communication can be a problem -or- a steep learning curve for one or both parties involved.
Americans and British ladies (or men for that matter,) sometimes will experience a cultural difference. This, however, never presented a problem as we both embraced those cultural differences rather than allow them to become a stumbling block.
In short, and with the right partner, there are NO possible dangers that I am aware of.

I guess you want to live in Ireland then ? I find it really sad that you are only looking in one place .. Real Love doesnt work like that and all I can say is disappointment awaits .. You should go on dating sites and meet up with people that way also see if you are compatable first ..... Same interests should be a must .. Its not that you need an irish lady its that you want one .. I would love to know motive.???
