The Bible clearly talks about Dragons and it clearly describes them and states that they lived with people.
Look at JOB or in the appochrapha at Beell and the Dragon.

There are many other places.

If you say you believe the Bible as the innerant word of God how can you ignor these things?

I believe the Bible 100% and I believe everything in it.

The term Dinosaur was not made up until 1841.

Tell me what you think.

Yep, their dragons were our dinosaurs. A rose by any other name... There are 35 occurrences of some form of the word dragon in the King James Bible. Only *some* of those are referring to the devil. We still have dragons with us today.

This does not sit well with evolutionists, however. They say dinosaurs went extinct before man ever came on the scene. Why, then, are fossilized human footprints found both under and over fossilized dinosaur footprints? There was also a human footprint found within a dinosaur footprint (a depression within a depression) and both were fossilized together. ;-)

I do not believe in dragons, especially fire-breathing ones. The bible is simply a collection of actual historical evens and fables. Which is which - a lot of scientist and archeologist are trying to figure this out. Many of the stories had previously appeared in other cultures of the same and previous times. That does not mean that the bible is of no value or a bunch of lies. But, once you start thinking about and start asking questions, it becomes a lot harder do believe 100% of what is in the bible.

The idea of dragons was very likely conceived, when ancient cultures found dinosaur bones and they just did not look like any animal they knew, plus those bones often were a lot bigger than any known animals. Those people were trying to make sense of this - and this is how a lot of stories start - with people's imaginations.

They could have been referring to the "kimodo dragon." Those are real and near extinct. They could have also been referring to some other type of large serpent creature that's extinct and was never known in our lifetimes. There's no telling what they meant. Over time we have developed different names for the same things throughout the generations. Their version of a dragon may not have been our modern version of what we would think a dragon would be at this day and age. I don't think anyone will ever no how they thought back then. Plus, if they were educated enough to know what they actually saw, they may not have understood it. We know more now than man did back then. There have been many breakthroughs in science, technology, discoveries and education than there was back then. We may never understand what they were thinking back then.

I think dragons are basicall lizards. And the dinosaur is a huge lizard. The Leviathon in Job is a good description of the fire breathing dragon.

I believe in the whole Bible.

The one in Job seems like a fire-breathing dragon, no less.

So how about the satyr [half-man, half-goat] or the unicorns --among others-- that are also mentioned elsewhere? They sound like something from Greek mythology...

Peace be with you.

Yes, it's been discussed before. The Bible could have been talking about dinosaurs when it mentions Dragon, Leviathan, Behemoth, the creature that ate Jonah, and the rest.

I suppose dragon legends could have originated from accidental discoveries of dinosaur bones.

I place no more faith in the bible than I do in Tolkien.

less actually, because even the most rabid of Tolkien fans has never told me I'm evil or gloated that they believe I'm going to be punished for eternity.

I believe in dragons, faeries, good men, and other mythical creatures. (I even married one of the good men.) I know quite a bit of the bible (although as a non-Christian, I don't feel it's my right to spout scripture...I'll stick to my own religious beliefs). and I trust 100% of the bible to be false. Yup, every word. The bible is one, very long, Shakespeare play to me.
