Honestly for me , I never used the cute little crib.I breast fed for a year so it was easy for him and me to do it that way.He slept through the night so easily. He would fuss, and it would take me 5 seconds to give him what he wanted.I never used the changing table either.Just kept a diaper changing pad by the bed. Since i didnt stay with his dad, he stayed in my bed for 5 years, and when i met someone else,he started sleeping in his own bed.Me and my son are very close, and he is very mellow and affectionate. There was never a separation issue with the whole thing. I think its ok, I guess it kinda depends on the situation. But i dont see much harm in it.He always had his own bed and woulnt fight sleeping in it, but it was just the two of us.

Our son has slept with us since he was a baby - he is 7 now and he doesn't so much any more. But he slept with us till he was about 4. Then we got him a big boy bed and told him he had to learn to at least go to sleep in there, but if he ever got scared he could come to bed with us. He snuck into bed with us till he was about 5 1/2. Since he was 6 he has regularly slept in his own bed, but often when he is sick or when he wakes up in the middle of the night he will come to bed with us. Most of the time though he sleeps the whole night on his own in his own bed.

By the way, we got him a bed when he was 3 - and he did have a crib he used for naps and such when he was a baby. We just didn't feel we needed to force him to sleep in the crib or the bed. We just waited till he was ready and seemed interested in sleeping on his own. Take cues from your child when they are ready.

All 3 of my children slept in bed with me while they nursed at night. When they were about 6 months old and sleeping through the night then they went to their cribs in their rooms. They have always slept there and do not come and sleep with my husband and I. We decided a long time ago and by watching our friends that still have big kids in their beds that we wanted it cleat that they had their own beds and room and sleep time was with out mom and dad. Hope this helps.

It started when my son was born and stopped when he turned 2. I had to let him sleep with me because I was living in a woman's shelter when he was born and rented a 1 bedroom apartment at 17. So I didn't have room to put him in another bed. He's 2 now.

My 2 year old daughter never slept with me until recently. She has bad dreams occasionally so she will come get into bed with me.
My son sleeps with me at least part of the night every night. Hes breastfed so its easier for both of us just to pick him up, latch him on and us both go back to sleep, since he often nurses for an hour or longer at time at night. My son is 5months old.

My first born NEVER slept with us. I had the "no co-sleeping" pounded into my head, so I never did. I was too scared to. lol Now that he's 3, he occasionally comes into our room in the middle of the night, but that's no big deal.

With my second, my husband was away in the military. It was easier for her to just sleep with me. I could wake up and nurse her and go right back to sleep. We co-slept for about 3 months (her father came home after that) and she went right into a crib with no problems. She's now 17 months and has never slept with us again.

My third has only slept in our bed a couple times. No big deal. He sleeps in his crib most nights. He's 3 months.

Both my girls breastfed, so they stayed in bed with me until they started sleeping through the night. They were about 5 months for my oldest, and 3 months for my youngest. When they would sleep all the night, they were in their own bed, but still in the same room.

my past family in india used to have family beds and often just spent the whole night crampt together

ok me- i slept with my mum mainly cos of space and my dad snored up to the age of about 8 then i got my own room

my 2 year old- he started sleeping with us from birth and then went to a crib at about 4 month- he then got super sick and often slept in our bed cos of medication in the night reasons .
at the age of a bout 1 he happily slept in his own bed but ended up in ours at 4 am- unfortunately i go to work at 5 am and that ruined my nights! aaarg
so now here's what i do - he's in his bed all night and i tend to spend the first 2 hrs sleeping with him. he often wakes up in the middle oft the night and i crawl in into his bed and sleep the rest of the night there- its the best way that he and i get the most sleep- i work long days so its the only way i save my sanity,
just being honest!

I'm going to let my baby sleep with me. Until she stops waking up in the middle of the night.
