I really don't think that is against the law, and seems kind of messed up to report your brother in law for it. You obviously have a problem with him and are out to get him. Why don't you just deal with that problem first.

Yes, you should report your b-i-l to the police ... and if you can, get the URL of the site he was watching it on so they can 'see' what he was looking at before they talk to him. It might be an 'accident' and he was 'in shock' ... but it also could be that your b-i-l is a pedophile and THIS is what it may take to stop him hurting children. I'm sorry, but there is something extremely WEIRD about 'anime porn' with 'kids' that just sets off every alarm in my body!

Report him to his wife! After you beat him with a stick! Any depiction of child pornography is totally wrong. Period!!!
How can anyone, legal or not, cartoon or not, condone the depiction of child molestation in any form what so ever. That's just sick! He could be a very sick person that needs some serious help. Why take the chance! I can't believe how many people on here are so nonchalant about a cartoon depicting child molestation, it's sick. People watch this stuff to fulfill their very sick perversion without breaking the law. This may or may not lead to more severe actions, but how are we to know, why take the chance. If one child gets hurt because of someone watching these cartoon, that's one too many. These cartoons don't help, they only aide. And anyone that has an interest in this needs to be dealt with, severely. And anyone who acts on this needs to be put to death!

As a police officer, I can say this is not illegal. Yup, you heard me. You can look at cartoons of grown men raping infant babies, and there isn't a thing the police can do. Your brother does sound like a sick man to be looking at that though. I'd keep my kids away from him.

there is a difference between child porno and anime *lolicon*. it isnt against the law.
According to the definitions provided in the United States v. Williams case, the definition of the term "child pornography" includes 'computer generated depictions of children that are indistinguishable from depictions of real children'. According to the same case, the term "indistinguishable" in terms of child pornography law 'does not apply to drawings, cartoons, sculptures, or paintings'. That is, drawings or cartoons are not "indistinguishable" and therefore not child pornography.

i think its better to give him advice than reporting him to the police coz the police can decide to put him behind the bars when again ya parents or any other person has to get him out .And i dont think that reporting him to the police is the correct way but in case you get to know that he is not changing you can tell the elders to advice him then if he doesnt change then take another action ,but please think twice before u act dont take him to the police .coz there so many people who can give and who can help some one more than a police .

A cartoon character can't be a victim, but i'd still be worried about him. Can't you have a word and tell him you saw what he was looking at and its upset you as there was a 'child' involved?
It could be that he came across it by accident, give him a chance to tell you before you jump to conclusions.

child porn is the sickest thing ever....your brother has a problem and needs severely "***** slapped".
However....since it's "anime" and no child victims were actually involved...I'm not sure any laws were broken.
The police may not be able to prosecute him for a crime even though he is a sick person.

If your a member of the anime Gestapo, then it is your duty to report him. I dont see a crime if there is no victim. I'm not sure I would want the guy around my teenage daughter though.
