Tse - What makes you think He is false

2007-11-04 03:36:35 · update #1

But he [was] wounded for our transgressions, [he was] bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace [was] upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. I don't see this relating to MLK or JFK

My husband just laughed and laughed! YES, Jews read Isaiah 53 (Yesheyahu) with GREAT anticipation and hope!
Why? Because Isaiah 53 is about ISRAEL, not about the pagan false messiah jesus.

Read the chapters preceeding and after 53 where scripture specifically identifies the subject of the message as Israel. Chapter 53 doesn't specifically identify Israel and THIS is why the christians constantly pull it out of the full message and claim it for Jesus. Christians are, therefore, guilty of their own accusation, NOT reading for fear of what it (the full message) says!

PS: WE'RE praying for the scales to fall off christianity's eyes. We know it will be a long wait.

Reply: Why do I think he's false? He didn't fulfill the requirements as laid down by scripture. The Romans executed him as a political dissident and Israel remained a captive people in their occupied land. Jesus wasn't the only Jew claiming to be the next messiah for Israel during the Roman occupation. Hundreds of other dissidents were executed, failing to meet the requirements of the messiah.

Of course we read it- and unerstand it better than the Christians who misinterpet it!

It is about Israel as a nation, as is clear from the context. Chapter 52 is about Israel as a nation switching to the metaphor of a suffering individual towards the end of the chapter. Chapter 53 continues with the metaphor, and chapter 54 switchs back to Israel as a nation without metaphor.

Bottom line, if we didn't like ti, we wouldn't have kept it in- it is our book, and borrowed by Christianity as Christianity has borrowed the rest of the Tanach.

They read it.

The popular interpretation behind Isaiah 53 in Judaism is that the prophecy pertains to Israel.

I recently watched a debate between a Messianic Jew and an Orthodox Jew.

The Orthodox Jew had some...ummm...interesting interpretations on it. One was that the prophecy applies to Martin Luther King, Jr. and JFK, but not to Jesus. I could send you the link where I watched the debate, but there's no telling when they're going to air it again.

Isayah 53 is about BOTH Yahshua as Messiah AND ISRAYL. And when we say Israyl, we are not talking of Edmoite, CHAZAR judaism. Yahshua was to REDEEM ISRAYL, and that is what he has done. Finished work.
Act 5:31 Him hath Yahweh exalted with his right hand [to be] a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israyl, and forgiveness of sins.
Luk 1:68 Blessed [be] Yahweh of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people,
Luk 1:69 And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David;
Rom 9:4 Who are Israelites; to whom [pertaineth] the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service [of Yahweh], and the promises;
This is not some replacement theos-ology getting rid of true physical Israylites with a so-called spiritual israyl. Nor is it saying those mongrels in the middle east CLAIMING to be Israyl is Israyl.
It is to say:
Rom 8:22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
Rom 8:23 And not only [they], but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, [to wit], the redemption of our body.

It is through TRUE physical Israylites Yahweh is manifesting and HE will send Yahshua back, these MANIFESTED CHILDREN ISRAYLITES will meet him and THEY will cleanse the world and restore the order intended since the DOMINION MANDATE was given to Adam in Gen. 1:28. This is what the GLAD TIDINGS of the KING DOMINION is all about. World wide dictatorship is comming soon, and will be worldwide.....thy kingdom come, thy will be done ON EARTH as it is in heaven..... most will be ashes under our feet, Mal.4

Isaiah 53 has nothing to do with a Messiah. Instead, it's one of the primary books upon which the Jesus legend was constructed.

Even if the Jews did read this scripture, they would most likely claim it was a prophet, but not the messiah.

They could not accept it, because to accepting it is admitting they had their messiah put to death.

Yet, there will come a day when the scales will be removed from their eyes. There will come a day when the hardness of their hearts is no more. IN that day, there will be so great a wailing throughout the land of Israel.

For they will finally come to know their messiah along with all those who believed.

We should pray for that day.

I am sure that they do read it. They cannot see though, that it IS in fact about the Messiah, Jesus.
Some may laugh, some of us mourn rather, because people do not understand.
