I grew up respecting Richard Petty, but I also liked Carl Yarlbough. Too bad racing isn't like it used to be! My favorite driver would have to be Dale Sr., but I see a lot of Earnhardt in Tony Stewart, believe it or not. The reason that I like Dale Sr is because he didn't care who he pissed off, just as long as he won! He could ride the wheels off of anything and he had that "it" factor. Saying that, the only current driver that has any of his qualities is Stewart. You can disagree with me all day, but you know as well as I do that its true!!

There were lots of them, Junior Johnson, I just love his moonshine history..The Silver Fox David Pearson, this guy was just awesome..Fred Lorenzen hey he was a hottie, all the girls loved him..Fireball Roberts, he was just a cool guy, he and my dad were buddies..Buck Baker, Curtis Turner, hey my list is endless, also the Alabama Gang Bobby & Donnie Allison.. I was lucky to meet alot of these drivers since my dad was a offical, and uncle was a crew chief at Holman and Moody.. Cale Yarbrough was great also..My Mom was a Richard Petty fan, our families had a huge thanksgiving get together when I was 8. It was great...I loved those good ole days of Nascar.

My favorite as a kid was a NASCAR part-timer- A.J. Foyt. I enjoyed watching him every year in the Indy 500.

My dad was from Texas, and kinda had that same swagger Foyt had.

Later- I became a fan of Darrell Waltrip. He was a winner and funny as heck.

Good 'ol DW in that #17 Mountain Dew car of his. I loved the rivalry he had with my (then) future favorite driver, Dale Sr. and all the smack he talked about Dale.

It was Dale Earnhardt Sr. He was the best every time he raced you knew what he would do. He took no gup from anyone those were the days. He had this way of making you like him even if you didnt. The race I loved the most was his pass in the grass and his only Daytona win.

Richard Petty, the king... I liked his car and his hat, and he won the first race I ever watched, the 1964 Daytona 500.
Cale Yarborough. Fireball Roberts. Johnny Rutherford. I just liked their names, I thought they were cool.

Don't bust on me, now. I was just a kid for Pete's sake!
