My high school principle practically told us to pray during our minute of silence and there were already designated areas for Christian students to pray before and after classes. I don't know what more you could ask for except a preacher in every class.

what's wrong with praying? Also your question doesn't make sense and it is a little difficult to answer

It's the same strong arm tactics used throughout Christian history to try to compel people to profess belief. If students want to pray at school, no one can stop them from doing it in an orderly manner.

Even the 'minute of silence' is too much pandering.

Well your pronciapl may be biased in his opinion if he is religious. Talk to a counsellor and tell them your feelings about pryaer in school and how you wish that they would leave the praying for the people who want to pray, and let everyone else just have a moment of silence.

That's stupid... I mean it's not like students can't pray anytime anywhere at school. Hell, there's a kid who sits next to me in honors precalculus who prays all the time and nobody stops him. Isn't that enough?

Nobody of course would pray just because they were told to by the principal so I dont think its a huge problem

A minitue of silence is sufficient. If your principal is trying to control your thoughts during that time, perhaps you should inform him about the first amendment. If he won't listen to you, then have a lawyer chat with him.

Make sure that he was really "telling" you to pray during that time, and just not informing people that that they MAY pray during that time if they wish.

NO keep religion and school separate!! Your principle should get in trouble for asking kids to pray if he did that to my daughter I would raise all kinds of heck!!

If there is any way possible to get a preacher in every class, they will do it.

that's how they advance their agenda. give them an inch, they proclaim every mile to be thweirs and theirs alone.

there's a very good reason for seperation of church and state, and they unwittingly prove it virtually every day.
