I can only speak of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway home of the Brickyard 400. My brother lives in Indy and is a truck Driver for Waste Management --They have IMS garbage collection contract. My brother and many others are pulled off their normal routes on Race weekends--He has dumped many dumpsters full of everything and there is no recycling to it.-- CANS_PLASTIC BOTTLES- and everthing else goes from the cans to the dumpsters to the LANDFILL!!!!!

Since it's all about the money (something that seems to be a recurring theme here), I would think the answer would be affirmative. I would imagine what they make off of recycling for just a single race would make a nice paycheck!

I do like Clint's answer though!

At Fontana I would have to say no. As the cost of trying to pay for a dismal attendance, the prices have skyrocketed and I collect all the cans and bottles I can find to cash in to try to buy a ticket to next years race.

Of course they do. They have people that clean up and sort out all the recycleables. They do that all sporting events in the United States Of America.
