There are a number of differerent services to do this
I am assuming that you and the other side have broadband connections - either dsl or cable
If you don't - better to mail a cd
Some of the options are

1) Yousendit - used to be good but now a terrible company
they keep changing the rules and will not tell you what is free and what is not - how much you can send in an account
Now the idiots send spam emils - come back please lol
Only use if one of you has windows 98 as opposed to
windows 2000 with sp4 or xp

2) Pando
very good easy to use service
the more people who have the download the faster it will go
you need xp or windows 2000 with service pack 4

Almost all file sharing websites have low file size limits, require registration to get better service and more over, if a disconnection happens, you have to upload it all from the beginning.
I suggest that you use torrent protocol for such big file, and you'll get resume support and automatic check for corruption, you won't have to worry about anything.
I suggest BitComet or uTorrent, I've used both for this purpose and they worked fine.
You'll use any of them to create a torrent for the file you want to share, it'll produce the .torrent file, which is a small (~100 kb max) then you'll need to send this small file to your friend and he must be running any torrent client(preferably one of those mentioned above) and he'll be able to download the file directly from your PC.
note that you'll have to keep your PC running until the upload finishes.

You again?

As i replied in your previous post, go to www.rapidshare.com
Your 600mb file will be broken up into 6 different files, 100mb each. You will then get 6 links for the 6 files. Send these links to your friend and he will be able to download them.
