First, don't ask for specific people to answer your questions; everyone is entitled to answer questions on this website, and, who knows if someone who otherwise has no direct knowledge of the subject, might have a brilliant idea for you!
Second, my friends have bought and sold cars over the 'net, and have had no problems with them. In some cases, the buyers drover or towed the vehicles to them, and one guy came all the way from California to buy the car they had submitted for auction (they live in Virginia!).
Third, virtually no standard shipper (USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc) will accept a motorcycle (and, even if they did, it would be expensive), so, unless you're willing to tow or ride the thing to the buyer, you'll have to arrange for transport some other way (some classifieds list people who are willing to take your heavier/bulkier items). If you ship/transport it, make sure the gas is drained out of the motorcycle (mostly for safety reasons), and give the shipper/transporter a COPY of the registration, but do NOT give the key to the shipper/transporter!!! Unlike a car, a motorcycle can be moved fairly easily even without unlocking the steering (assuming your motorcycle is so equipped). Wait until the cycle has reached the buyer, and then snail-mail the key to him along with the registration, title, etc (make sure to make a copy of it, just in case it gets lost in the mail); make sure to list such in the ebay auction, so that the buyer knows how you're going to do it.
Fourth, if it were me, I'd rather the buyer came to me with cash in hand. That way, you don't have to deal with waiting for checks/money orders to clear.
Fifth, make sure to wait until the check, money order, etc, has cleared before you ship the bike!!!
Good luck!

In terms of shipping costs, you can get estimates for freight for such an item at many places. Check auto transport places for example. You can make the item "pick up" only or offer to help arrange transportation but that would be the cost of the buyer. Read the eBay rules and be careful as to buyer's reps.....you should be okay via eBay but communicate with your buyers and demand at least a down payment with the balance within 5 days (example) or whatever your terms are.
Another choice would be Craigs List. They run local and cost nothing, plus with local you can usually meet your buyers and they can kick the tires (litterally). I've used this before and it is really easy.
Here is the link to Craigs List (San Antonio), but you can shift to your local market.
http://sanantonio.craigslist.org/
Go to your local market and type in "Motorcycles". See?
Good Luck

You make sure to stipulate in the terms of the sale that the buyer is responsible for all shipping charges. If they are from out of your area, they can have a company like DAS (dependable auto shippers) ship it to them. There are other shippers (FedEx included) that do ship vehicles. Just google auto shippers. You don't want to limit the sale to local people only. It would defeat the purpose of listing on eBay. If you want only local sales, use www.craigslist.org for free.

you can put in your listing that the buyer is responsible for arranging their own shipping and maybe a link to some automotive shippers
