It happens.
I've seen it happen plenty of times when I was going to school.

Well, there are two sides to every story. As a teacher and a parent, I would have to look at both sides. Was your friend disrupting class while the teacher was teaching a lesson, and then she decided she needed to go to the restroom? Sometimes teachers have to ignore disruptive behavior to make it stop, so if your friend was asking silly questions, off topic, or just trying to make others laugh, then the teacher ignored her for that reason. The teacher could have also been in the midst of a math problem that she could not stop at that particular moment, or it would have confused other students. In that case, she would have come back to your friend in a short moment.

However, if your friend really needed to go, and raised her hand out of the blue, then the teacher should have answered. In my experience, teachers usually allow students to go to the restroom if it's a true emergency (and we can usually tell). Good luck to you and your friend.

Absolutley not. When I was in first grade I had a bladder operation and when I came back to school I had to go to the bathroom alot. I raised my hand and the teacher told me that I should have gone at recess. I told her I had and she told me I would have to wait. I promptly peed my pants in front of the whole class. My mom was furious when she found out later and told the principal. I was moved to another teachers class and that teacher did not return to our school the next year. I don't know how old you are, but I guess it might depend on that. Being that I was 6, it might have been different for me. But I think the teacher should have acknowedged her at least. I was very embarrassed and even though my mom went to my class the next day and expleined to my class what had happened I was very traumatized by it.

I'm going to tell you what I told my kids to do when a friend of theirs teacher told her to go sit down when she went up to her desk to tell her she had to go very bad and the teacher had already told her no earlier. The little 3rd grader wet her pants and it followed her all through school. I told my kids that if they had to go really bad and the teacher said no to get up and go to the bathroom anyway and to tell her or the Principal or whoever to call me if they had any questions !!! Thank goodness they never had to do that !! Some teachers use their power to be cruel to their students and they need to be fired because the things they do can have repercussions for a life time !!!

Some teachers are just mean like that. Now I taught elementary school and could generally tell who were chronic offenders and who really had to go. If there were extreme cases where the child had a medical issue, I had no problem with that. For me it was about trust, and abusing that trust.

Yes, it happens, but it is not right. Part of the teacher's attitude is probably because some of the kids say they need to go to the restroom when they really don't. But this still doesn't make it right.

if your middle or high school the teachers expect you to go in between classes. not during their class time. she needs to tell her parents thr truth and have them get the teachers side. math is also thr biggest class that kids try to get out of

No it is not right Idk why teachers don't like to let student go to the restroom that is so silly. My mom always told me when i was in school ( 7yrs ago) that if I had to go to the restroom and the teacher denied me walk out and go and deal with the consequences later.

So you get up and leave the classroom to use the bathroom. when you return, say "I had to go and you weren't listening to me" as politely as you can. If you get sent to the office, repeat this story.
