Because Jesus mumbled something about God being his "father". However, my view is that he probably thought of all people as "children of God". Certainly, early Christians did NOT consider Christ as God, or even divine. Jesus Christ was decreed as God by a committee, some 300 years after he died.

In my opinion the Old Testament points to Jesus Christ as the Son of God and the New Testament confirms it.

Because Jesus said that "I and my father are one",he who has seen me has seen my father"and a lot of such statements....But there is not a single unequivocal statement in the complete bible where jesus HIMSELF(i mean HIMSELF) has said I am God or where he has said"Worship me"...i mean the whole christianity is based on this sentence that "Jesus is God" which is not even present in the bible..If u go through the context of these verses which i have quoted above and other related verses in the bible which the christians pick out and say that these verses show that Jesus claimed divinity, you will clearly come to know that Jesus didnt claim divinity..He only meant to say that what God says,I also say that(because he was the messenger of God and every messenger says what God says),in order to make your life according to the path selected by God for you, follow my example....But i dont know why the christians take it in a sense that Jesus claimed divinity....If u further see in the bible,Jesus says "My father is greater than I","My father is greater than all"and many other verses which say that Jesus didnt claim divinity. If u ask chrisitans about these verses, they dont answer and put forward the above mentioned verses...However,if the above mentioned verses are taken in the sense that Jesus claimed divinty, then they will contradict with the verses in which Jesus said that "My father is greater than I"etc, however if you go to the context of the above mentioned verses, you will clearly find out that Jesus didnt claim divinity.....
There r other prophets of God which have been called as sons in the bible but i dont know why the christians only take Jesus to be the begotten son of god........Now there is one verse in John where it is written "begotten son" but the christian scholars themselves say that it's not of Jesus and its a fabrication...

....And also if you go to the original text of the bible, the word begotten is not there...

Same reason why we believe everything else.
Because it's true.
How else do you explain the empty tomb?
(Read "The Case for Christ" by Lee Strobel if you're really interested;he was an agnostic journalist who set out to prove Christianity was a hoax, and wound up converting instead!)

in the first place it is as clear as crystal that Bible is god"s word and inspired by God himself.
God will not lie.
prophesy said hundreds of years before christ came and it just passed perfectly.
the same Bible its been said that Jesus is the son of God.
just interpret the above sentences and you will understand why it is as clear as a white crystal that Jesus is the son of God.
not even smallest pint of doubt.

Because, for us, the Bible says so. Personally, I know His name really has power, and He has brought me before God in prayer.

Capital "C" if you please. It is a name, or did you flunk English classes too? When we die we all will know the truth. Be prepared is more than a boy scouts decree by the way.
