That's easy.
It stops me from comfortably doing , what I want, when I want.
It makes me feel guilty about getting even, enjoying revenge, for things that really hurt me.
I can't easily take advantage of circumstances that are there for me to enjoy, just because it may hurt someone else.
It wouldn't let me tell a white lie when it is neccessary.
If I did something mean to some one who deserves it, It would expext me to regret it or to appologize anyway.
Instead of just being able to live my life I would have to consider what my actions would do to other people that I don't have anything to do with.
If I "found" something and knew who it belonged to, I would be expected to return it instead of enjoying it.
When I need to vent myself with bad language or actions, I am expected to be restricted by guilt and remorse.
Even when the law says something is OK, I am expected to consider how that would affect somebody else who I don't care about.
I am not free to choose the friends that I want to. There are many restrictions.
I can't even think about some things that I would get pleasure from because religion says it is wrong.
I can't even disrespect my parents even when I know they are over controlling me or or being too strict.
I am supposed to set goals that don't involve money or power even though that is needed to get ahead in the world.
I am supposed to honor my word even though when I said it it was a rediculous idea in the first place.

now some of your answers gave me good laugh. without Christianity you would not have modern science , education , democracy or charity works. would you please list all the wars the USA has been involved in that has been religious started.matter of fact site religious wars of The 20th century. like you apply your question to atheists country's see what a difference. we have come to 1984 state where history is being rewritten to diminish the role God has played in history.

religion divides Gods people, the church is the body of Christ not a building with a name on it..people decides what they percieve in the bible (baptist example believe you have to be baptized to be saved)and you must in the spirit but not in water they believe water baptism all religions seperates instead of uniting

the main thing I can think of that really bothers me is that people of religion make claims and promises that they will be taken away and go to heaven and I was kinda looking forward to that so there may be peace on earth but as of yet those people are still around.

It fuels the desire for war, it causes persecution (believe it or not christians, you are not being persecuted like too many seem to think), it prevents scientific progress, it is the leading cause why the middle east is in such a mess right now, and it makes crazy people think that their actions are justified. Oh, and I forgot about fear, religion causes a large amount of fear in its own believers and it indoctrinates children.

religion, primarily one that denies the validity of other religions, enforces the denial and rejection of "the other" of anyone who doesnt believe and think the way the members of that religion do and of anyone who is different to you.
it can lead to segragation in the "best scenario" and to wars, crusades etc in the worst scenarios.

Religion takes the joy out of sin (disobedience) we are only truly happy when we are doing what is right in God's sight.

Not allowing gay marriages, not allowing to be gay, not allowing to sodomize your partner, not allowing to sodomize your partners friend, not allowing to sodomize your partners friend in church, etc. Religion is also anti-cool, anti-fun, anti-drunk, anti-drunk in church, ah the list goes on and on. It's long than the bible I think.
