i want to get light blue contacts....

You will need opaque contacts designed to be used with dark eyes, not the transparent ones designed for light eyes. Whether or not you like the effect depends upon you.
When you go for your contact lens fitting, the doctor will have you try on various colours of blue, let you look in the mirror and decide which one you want.

They'll definitely show up. I wore colored contacts over dark brown eyes, and it showed up. I think their fun, and really good for people who are new to contacts to help you see them when their out.
I stopped wearing them though when too many should be romantic moments were ruined by the guy saying "I can't really see your eyes."
I'm back to loving my naturally dark eyes, but it took going blue and green for a while to appreciate them; so have some fun with them.

idk so much about LIGHT blue but medium blue wud deff work
