You need to focus on being strong spiritually, and not over indulging. The world is full of dangers and problems. You may not be getting relevant guidance from your church, but you still need guidance from somewhere. Most religions are still stuck believing stuff, that is outdated, and came out of primative times, when science was not available to explain a lot. If you can find a more advance church, maybe it would work for you. Meditate/pray, do mind-body exercises, eat health, and certainly don't over indulge, and God should help you to be safer, and more useful in this world we live in.
