I'm sorry you've had bad experiences with Christians. Please know that Christians do not accurately reflect the God we believe in--and we owe the world an apology for that. Christ lived humbly, never requiring people to follow Him. Those who loved Him chose to follow Him, seeing that He was truly God. Please forgive us, as Christians, for being pushy and haughty. It is un-Christlike.

the empiror asoka had wrote on pillars throughout his kingdom the rights and privilages of the people and the duties he would try to preform one of these rock edicts as they are know it says A man must not do reverence to his own sect or disparage that of another sect without reason. Deprecation should be for specific reason only, because the sects of other people all deserve reverence for one reason or another. By thus acting, a man exalts his own sect, and at the same time does services to the sects of other people. By acting contrariwise, a man hurts his own sect and does disservice to the sects of other people. Rock Edict XII
