I understand that when you are traveling to the US, you have to declare if you are carrying more than $10,000. I also understand that this $10,000 is not really a limit and one can carry any amount one wants provided it is declared at the customs if currency is in excess of $10,000. What I want to know is -
- Does this mean that my wife and I can each carry $10,000 or $10,000 is the limit per family (obviously without needing to go through the hassle and delay at customs).
- I am a US Citizen and my wife is a GC holder - does that make a differnce with respect to the allowed limit?
Thanks,
