The main difference is that I rarely get the opportunity to talk to people about religion and spirituality except in the group (in my case, the Ethical Society) to which I belong. I think that's pretty common. Except for people like Jehovah's Witnesses who go out evangelizing, few people talk about religion to people who believe something very different from themselves.
To me, that's the most important value of this site. Now if we can just keep it polite, we'll really have something here.

i'm asserting that it is created so completely it must be created by way of God, via perfectness of it. View your anatomy- inner, and outer, examine each general actuality with regard to the human physique -- that doesn't lead you to have faith a brilliant bang or some chemical components or atoms did no longer make it that suited, and working? i'm asserting that some issues are too suited to in trouble-free terms be, ----whats up, guy, i like , respectfully disagree for motives which does no longer make you look stupid in any respect. Heck, i'm in all probability incorrect. I wouldn't have even delivered it up. My undesirable. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ yet i've got faith God made all this and atheists are seeking for for information on that, -----helpful, i've got been finding for 3 years. For some information on that. i've got been finding. for 3 years. 3 long years. nevertheless finding. have not truly got here upon it yet, i think. 'It' being information. no longer all of the help there must be on the problem, yet in trouble-free terms a number of it. A sentence or 2. A word, perhaps. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ fallacy or no longer, it is real. --------Yup, it is not suitable if the reasoning is broken b/c the place it leads is the reality of the Lord. you're applicable and that i'm incorrect. properly accomplished, theist. I in no way concept to easily investigate the belief as being you're applicable no count why you think of something or the variety you arrived at that end and that i'm incorrect via fact i do no longer think of the variety you do. I would have to say no. Here too much bashing against Christians takes place. And then again while true to the message, many use it as an opportunity to convert others with the threat of going to hell for rejecting the message. I have always felt that a better informed individual stands a better chance of choosing for themselves what road to take then one forced to chose out of fear (unholy fear that is).
So while discussion is great, you are going to be bombarded from both sides why you should be with them. The sides being the atheist and the Christians. A genuine discussion won't be there. The questions will be lost in the middle of a war of words.
In case someone is wondering, I am a bible believing christian.
Now, thoughout the internet there are many discussion boards. you will encounter the same issues from both sides. No real learning, but again, a war of words.

It is easier to gather people of differing viewpoint here, than in most other places. Traditional religions tend not to get challenged as much, when they hold so much of the power, and they are able to keep non-believers away from where they gather. It is healthy to challenge these religions formed in primitive times, that are so closed to new ideas or change. We do have a lot of silly questions and answers sometimes, but we should expect some people to be a little out of touch, with the seriousness of morality and the spiritual, and its affect on dealing with extremely serious problems we have on the earth today.

Yes. I've participated in some multifaith (or multi- and non-faith, to include the atheists) forums in real life and online.
The differences:
Online: people can respond to others' answers, and have an actual back-and-forth discussion, unlike here. Sometimes the flamewars get brutal, or stupid (as bad as here).
In Real Life: people who bother to get off their *** and travel someplace to participate in a live interfaith forum tend to be a lot more respectful of others' religious views than you find online.

in real life discussions everybody is revealed and they see in person.they may say something that may conflict others.but again,i think everybody who are the fore runners in the christian body understands better than others, that ultimately they serve the same God or in otherwords ,the same source but a different viewpoint.here in this forum nobody is visible and in proximity.
real life discussions are more cautious than any thing we see here(they may have to take an important decisions which may affect a society and various denominations, whereas it is absent here).

Not in my personal experiences. In a real life conversation people actually have common courtesy and respect for one another. You also can be held accountable for your rude and disrespectful treatment towards others and their beliefs. Where as here there is no accountability. People also have time on hear to put other peoples remarks or beliefs (cut & paste or other websites information) instead of speaking for themselves. GOD BLESS!!

I think most religious discussion in the real world is just as dull and pointless as most of what goes on here.
Obviously we need more weapons.

I would say the terminally ill at your local hospital have the most realistic discussions on religious matters, here on yahoo answers you have the whole gambit of discussions from people who are not facing their immediate death.

The ones that I have are not filled with the hate that some people spew here...it's easy to hide behind an avatar and make nasty remarks...not so easy in person.
