Try a warm bath with epsom salt and drink plenty of water. (An ibuprofin wouldn't hurt either.)

I remember a lot of this from cross country. The first important thing to do to keep from getting all tense and sore is both a warm up and a cool down session. Do your stretches, etc. when you cool down and don't work too hard. It really helps. Also, along with stretches, try ice or warm baths. Ice will help keep swelling down in the muscles, and warm baths will relieve tension. (Which one you do depends on the pain caused from your soreness. Try warm when you are more tense, and ice when you are more sore.) DON'T forget the stretching and a regular cool down routine.
Also, some types of food with protine help. If you've done a heavy non-cardio workout, try stuff like peanut butter and jelly sandwhiches. Those foods help in refueling your body properly and help regain the muscles you've hurt in your workout.

You should stretch before and after (after is very important) any physical activity.
Make sure you know the proper stretches, it wouldn't hurt going over them w itrh a trainer.
Also, use ice if the area is sore/swollen and rub it in circular motions for about 2 minutes on each side.
Feel better!

The soreness comes from the excess production of lactic acid, which happens when muscles don't get the oxygen they need when working. It will flush itself out in a few days, but drinking lots of water helps, and it also helps to take an anti-inflammatory like Motrin or Advil - take like 600-800 mgs. four times a day for a couple of days.

Stretch thoroughly before and after exercising, and taking a hot bath with epsom salt added to the water helps a great deal, too (removing lactic acid from your body). Make sure you're eating enough to rebuild the muscles you're tearing down, and sleeping enough to allow them to heal and strengthen. And, consuming electrolyte replenishing drinks like Gatorade helps you avoid muscle spasms that result from depleted potassium levels post-workout. (Then too, make sure you're not over-training; Tae Kwon Do is a "bear" by itself, and so is dancing. The two of them together may be a bit too much.)
