My husband had it done by Optical Express for £990 18 moths ago. It is good, but be warned! It hurts more than you think! And sometimes you're eyes can be dry for ages after. My husband's and other people I know had dry eyes for 1 year to 18 months. And then still you have to use drops at times. For example my husband was out last week where someone was smoking and he got dry eyes and were a bit bloodshot.

It depends on your age. If you're in your 40s like I am, you might not be a good candidate. I decided not to have it done because I will need reading glasses. Right now, I only wear reading glasses when I have my contacts on. My close up vision is still quite good when I don't have anything on my eyes. I would lose that if I got the procedure done. I can see close up without any assistance better than I can while wearing my contacts and using reading glasses. I don't want to risk losing that.

oh go for it, had mine done five years ago, only regret is that I should have had it done sooner.
Do not be scared, it is just uncomfortable for a little while after, does not hurt
Best things about having it done:
1. Seeing in the mirror without your specs on
2. Not having to change from sunglasses to normal glasses when you would go inside a shop !
3. Going swimming, cor it was great to be able to see other people in the pool
4. Most of all the freedom to get rid of the most annoying things, nomore poking them back up , adjusting arms to be more comfortable, etc, etc
Go, go, go,go for it. (Go to a decent place though).

Laser eye surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her dental implants and Lasik surgery in India by a company called Indian Health Guru Consultants. The Price for dental and Lasik surgery is very less in India. She paid 25% of the price she was quoted in America.
Indian Health Guru Consultants is very famous in India They arrange Dental surgery, jaw surgery, Lasik eye surgery, Dental Implants etc for foreign patients in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and magazines- about their patient stories.
They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low cost, as dental and eye surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.

like numerous surgical operation it has disadvantages. i had a buddy who had it executed, ended up in important discomfort and with worse imaginative and prescient afterwards. in spite of the indisputable fact that it relies upon on your danger aspects. Your boyfriend needs to analyze very heavily what his danger aspects are, what the fulfillment price is of teh medical institution he is going to, what they'll do if there are issues etc. ensure he does the analyze in a methodical vogue and makes the alternative on agency data, no longer promoting cloth and desire.

laser eye surgery is temporary and your vision will still deteriorate in time. i worked in an opticians and had lots of people ask about it. its a quick fix for now but you would either need it done again or go back to glasses sooner or later

dont do it. look into other options. such as an optical disk being inserted. because with lasik eye you cant go back. so if they mess it up, your screwed. but with the disk inserted if you have problems. all they do is take it out and you're fine. lasik often makes you have dry eyes and at night lights (cars etc) get blurry and have halos/streaks .
