I would love for the whole world to do that. It would reduce most of the problems in the world that is due to religion; however, I do not think that it will happen or at the least in the next two hundred years. The main reason is as someone else has posted is that from the dawn of human civilizations people have had this idea that there is a deity and while it has changed over the centuries it has been conditioned into society.
Those of us that have broken off the shackles of religion face many difficult challenges; sometimes even discrimination.
However, it is very important that all of us non-believers stand up and stand by one another; only together we can be strong against those who wish to force us to convert.
Lastly a way to encourage others to break away is to encourage them to question their religion. To ask tough questions, to ask questions that they are afraid of asking.
And also point out the many harms that religion has done to society by backing it up with creditable and plausible evidence.
Edit:
poster paul h is commet is a perfect example of someone who believes in the lies that are told about Atheists and simply spreads those lies over the Internet.

The most likely thing to happen will be that another religion will become the major religion. It's happened before in history. Christianity started out as something that had to be practiced in secret: they were the minority.
If there is a shift, even if it were to atheism or agnostic, then it would still be centuries from now. These things take time. So I wouldn't hold your breath for an example anytime soon.

Religion has reason and logic. If you do good and you enter the kingdom in heaven, therefor, all that enter heaven are good. Isn't that logic? God sent His Begotten son for reason He loved us so much. Isn't that good reason?!! In your question, the bible prophecies many will turn away from God in these last days It's not new to believers, there come a day many will hate good ways but do love evil things. They will rely on their own reasons and logic as if they live in their own and by their own, but dumb not thinking who created the air he breath, how his specie was created, how his being, his body parts and organs works together so perfectly!

Yes, and ours has. For example, many well theoretical arguments had been made in opposition to the probability of distinctive studies, such because the enjoy of natural realization. the good judgment used to be so compelling that it used to be taken as dogma, in conjunction with the notion that realization have got to have an item in an effort to be identified (known as "intentionality"). But this isn't a theoretical query, so the good judgment is inappropriate. The query is empirical, and handiest empirical solutions will do. The equal has occurred with materialism. The good judgment of materialism (present style known as "physicalism") has labored so good that it used to be taken as reality. The incontrovertible fact that no fabric technology can account for realization is an in precept refutation of materialism. Of path, all this might simply as good be known as disorders of too little good judgment, however you get the factor.

I really doubt it. It's been so long since people believe in religion. Even in today's world full of technology people pray before they go to bed. And although I'm not completely religious or atheistic, I really don't see what's the problem with it. If people feel good praying to someone, then let them do that. You believe what you want to believe. But no one should force their beliefs on other people.

Yes. Society is becoming more atheistic every day. Actually the bible predicts this before the end comes.
1 Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers, 2 not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by some prophecy, report or letter supposed to have come from us, saying that the day of the Lord has already come. 3 Don't let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. 4 He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God's temple, proclaiming himself to be God.
2 Thess 2:1-4 (NIV)
The rebellion is a "falling away" from faith in God. In other words-atheism.

There will be a day of the anti-Christ. When people will follow this man and he will lead them away from the Lord for eternity. I don't believe that there will be one more atheists than believers. But it not superstitious religion and your way of thinking is NOT logic. It's just funny how people can't see the truth and they are so caught up by the devils work that they are too blind to see it. We are not the lost ones. We are the ones who see the story being played out. Read the Holy Bible. You'll understand. I dare you to pray to God. I dare you to set out to prove he's fake. I dare you for 30 days give up your ignorance and take a walk in our shoes.
Pray to Jesus everyday.
Repent daily meaning "ask for forgiveness of your sins"
Ask him to open your eyes, heart, ears, mind, soul and mouth up to him. So you can feel his presence, love and hear his voice.
Practice our way of life for him. If you'll do this I'll pray for you. You'll see things so much better and the weight of the world will be lifted off of you if you let yourself old self die and allow Jesus guide our life.
Your probably thinking "Oh OK what ever". What's the matter afraid? Afraid your wrong? Afraid there is a God and your on your way to Hell? Prove he doesn't exist. I dare you. 30 days.

Truth/Knowledge is of two types: material and spiritual. Both are necessary. Science investigates the outer, physical universe, while religion investigates the inner, spiritual. We need both kinds of knowledge/truth. We need science to reveal how the physical universe works. We need religion to explain why and what it means and give us a moral sense of how to use our physical knowledge in service to all humanity.
Whatever science shows to be superstitious, religion must get rid of. However, science must be humble and admit that it cannot explain everything there is to know.

I am not shackled up to the idea that I cannot believe in something. I am quite capable of seeing the big picture, as it relates to the spiritual realm and science. My pov is not limited to science or what I can see in front of my face. In fact I think I should start calling myself a freethinker, a true freethinker.
Edit:
Good point 19jay63. They even tried to start a new calender that didn't have any religious references.

There are a lot of weak-minded / innocent / credulous people in the world and religions sects and cults will continue to exploit them as long as they are allowed to get away with it and as long as governments give churches tax breaks to help further the churches proselytising activities and corrupt political ambitions.
